Just go through whats already here (go through pages of forums) and just search on you tube, google, etc.

Definitely. You should also always only do things that you've seen before. If it's something you're coming up with originally it's going to look stupid.

exactly. typically a good place to start is with dubstep and twixtor.

if he really wants to get anywhere though, he needs to get a t2i, shoot wide open with the kit lens with an opteka fisheye on it

And when it comes to editing and music choose, go to http://www.skimoviemusic.com and find something that has been used already, as said earlier makes your edit much better, defenetely check out Coastin'- Zion I and Sail by Awaolnation...

don't forget to press record when you're filming an interview on your own/sitting next to the camera where you can't see the screen...woooops
