Moving to Park City

Just accepted a job out in Park City, Utah. Going to need to find a place to rent for me and two other people. Any sites or realtors anyone knows I can rent from? Again looking for an annual lease so probably won't be too close to the mountain.

I saw Liberty Peaks as an option, any feedback? Thanks.

Welcome back to PC man! Sorry don't know of any places open right now. I'd check with the management companies too and not just on craigslist.

liberty homes are owned by a corporation called cowboy properties and they will have a bunch of bullshit fees. Your best bet is ksl.com, or the local newspaper which is called park record. They have places up for rent on their website. That's where I've found all my places and you would rent directly from the owner rather than some company. good luck.

In contrast, I'd recommend checking out Coalition Management. If they have something that works for you they're super easy to work with. I rented a place through them for a year as have two other groups of friends without any problems and the rent was reasonable for all three spots as well. We needed a new water heater and all we had to do was hit up Coalition, then they hit up the owner who lives in CA, he approved getting it fixed, Coalition sent someone and it got fixed. All pretty quick. Not sure what problems other people had, but if you pay your rent on time and take care of the house/apartment I can't really see how a landlord could give you much trouble.

You're actually at an advantage looking for an annual lease instead of a 6 month. A lot of the property owners/managers have been burned by the "here for a season" crowd and are more willing to negotiate with an annual term so long as you're stable and can prove consistent income.

That said, at least in old town anyway, a lot of the best places/deals aren't even listed online. They just have "for rent" signs posted out front and get passed along via word of mouth.

im returning back to PC to work as a golf professional at Glenwild in the summer and then hopefully work the floor of one of the ski shops out there in the winter (in a perfect world).

Hopefully that will help me in locking down a place easily. Thanks for the info, I can't believe I forgot about KSL. I used that a ton two summers ago.

I will look into all suggestions. So excited to spend a winter out there. I really enjoyed my summer, can't even imagine spending a winter there.

i lived on empire ave two summers ago. place was small but perfect. im guessing crazy expensive in the winter though. looked like some NSers lived down the road from me .. some crazy van with a rail and some sleds.

I live in the Crestview condos with 3 other people and my dog. They're behind the Tanger Outlets in Kimball at the top of the hill. They're REALLY nice condos (they're big and pretty high end inside - granite/stainless steel, gas fireplace, nice mountain views etc, and the complex also has a small gym, hot tub and heated pool that's open year round, heated underground parking, extra storage closets, tons of running/biking trails all around, etc) and they're actually not ridiculously expensive. I only pay $325 a month. Being in Kimball is also super convenient, I'm really stoked on the location. I think they only rent by owner though, not through a management/leasing office. We found ours on Craigslist and moved in right away. If you see an ad for a place in Crestview, I'd definitely recommend at least checking it out! I love our place!

Even though thats sick, living in kimball seems so inconvenient. You're still far from the city but still 10+ min from PC. If im gonna be far from the city, i wanna be 2 mins from the mountain.

Eheath, I thought that too originally but it's honestly turned out ok. I like being really close to the highway, walmart, bank, grocery store, Redstone and all that, I like that parking won't be an issue for me during Sundance, and we're on the bus route so technically I don't really have to drive at all if I don't want to. I was driving up to PC from Sugarhouse 5 days a week for work before we moved, so for me the 10 minute drive in feels super mellow (I work real close to pcmr). Plus it's a lot cheaper than most of what we could find in downtown PC. But it's definitely a matter of what's important to you personally - if you want to be able to walk to the resorts, then of course don't go for Kimball.

Kimball is ok in the winter when the buses are running frequently. Would be kind of a pain in spring/summer when they only run every hour or so. If you do decide to live in Kimball and plan on hitting the Main St bars throughout the winter... pay the $$ and CAB IT HOME or have a DD. You will not survive "The Gauntlet" (the stretch between Park and Canyons, basically) if you're running it frequently. And that just goes for speeding or anything else in general around PC. Cops are everywhere and they will look for a reason to pull you if it's late.

Thanks for all the input, i saw a couple ads for crestview. What about living in the canyons resort? I found a place for rent by owner, anything around there?


is empire ave too expensive during the winter months?

I as well just accepted a job working for Canyon Resorts and am moving out late Nov, looking for a place to live. Thought that Liberty Peak Apartments looked nice but will keep looking. Also, I am working for the mountain in the ski school department but I also want to get a bartending/slash waitressing jobs not affiliated with the Canyon Resorts company. If you live out there what is a chill/bar/nightclub that would be a good place to pick up some cash. Thanks any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Old town is the only real choice to live if you ski and are young. Anywhere else is a pain in the dick. Park Meadows/Prospector is the only other close option but they are still to far from skiing and fun.

I would rather live on the Moon than over at the Junction.

Glenwild sucks dick. Seems like you got a good gig there, but that place is wack.

yeah, im hoping to score a 1 bedroom plus loft somewhere, see if i get lucky or not.


Glenwild is a good place for a golf pro, our staff seems to stick around for awhile too.
