Any guys out there do Yoga?

Ive had a lot of back pain recently and ive been told by a phisio that is is lined to my hamstrings being incredibly tight (like i can only lift my leg from flat to about 45 degrees). So he told me to start doing yoga.

Anyone out there know what its like? I mean im not too sold on the whole idea of going from wearing XXXL tall tees and pants to then slipping into spandex to go to a yoga class with a bunch of middle aged women.

i did this whole p90X thingy and yoga was probably my favourite thing there.

idk how much "real yoga" it contains, but it wasnt as fastpaced as the other vids, so i could imagine that its somewhat reasonable.


there is stuff that wears you out, stretches your body at the same time. other stuff stretches and needs balance and so on.


i really like it.

I'm trying to attend yoga classes or something in the near future. Definitely a good form of exercise for skiing.

I do it for climbing. if you do the more strength oriented yoga, it'll definitely help. Kicks your ass, too

i mean, the pushups/pullups thing was pretty tough on me as well. but this is so deceptive. like you put that video on for the first time and you kind of are like "fuck yeah, yoga, easy shit, with all that music and stuff", but the first 45 minutes fuck shit up.

yeah i did it for awhile on my off days from training. it's fairly enjoyable, very calming.

give it a try. you can where whatever you want too, spandex is just a bonus of going since you get to check out teh ladiez

i do a few yoga stretches mostly because my back is in rough shape, but i cant' really claim that i "do yoga"..

I took a yoga class in my last term of high school, I didn't really want to take the course but it was my only choice. It ended up not being that bad, I enjoyed it most days and it is defiantly good for you. Yoga isn't only physical, the physical part isn't even suppose to be the main focus, although it is for most. It's about the state of mind and treating your body well. That means meditation and only eating natural, organic foods. You can really go in depth with it, there is a lot more to it than most think.

Oh and the girls were hot in it too.

yoga is awesome, started doing it junior year of college and i have honestly never felt so good my entire life, doing yoga then going skiing makes a huge difference for me and now i cant go skiing without first doing yoga for 15 or 20 minutes

I did it a few times one fall before ski season, its pretty nice and it can be pretty intense too. ive heard the hot yoga shit is even more intense and makes you feel pretty good the next day, ive never tried it though. Ive always wanted to do yoga again but never really have had any chance cause i did it in hs when i was free at my gym my parents were members to.

I did yoga when i was like 10 years old with girls around 10-15 years old. Now i just do stretches on my back, ankles, and hamstrings. Mainly because I have pulled something under my left shoulder blade, it feels good to stretch my back, both ankles have permanently screwed up ligaments, and my hamstrings are important for running/skiing WUDDUP.

you sound like youre not willing to try anything new. i dont know why you wouldnt be doing yoga right now, especially because it was recommended by your physio. Yoga is really nice, calming. everyone above me has explained it pretty well. Ive started doing yoga in the last month and i already notic differences in flexibility and strength. when ski seaosn rolls around ill be ready, and you will be to if you stop being scared to put on some tights bitch! but you can just download p90x yoga, thats what i do. its private and you can do it on your own time. its soothing.

bro look up hip yoga so good for skiing. yoga seems like a 40 year old mom type of thing or ok you gotta be like a monk or some shit but nah it’s actually super nice. youtube that shit
