Replying to U.S.=Roman Empire

It may sound farfetched, but the United States is getting very close to what the Roman Empire was. The Roman Empire was very strong for a long period of time and was always the big dogs. We, as citizens of the United States, think that nothing will ever happen to us. This is what the Roman Empire thought. Their borders got so big it was difficult to protect and soon the rest of the surrounding Barbarians of Europe came together and took the giant down. Is this what is happening to us, right now? I sure hope not, but there are many similarites between the two.
