Summer skate edit I'm almost done with

I posted this up on the skate edit thread but didnt get any critiques


This is still a private link, its close to done but I'd like some opinions.....I'm really looking for a way to make it more "hype"

A couple points. If I have time I'll try to come back with more soon.

1. Some of the sound stuff sounded wierd with the slow motion.

2. It was pretty long. I personally would never want to watch a skate video that long.

3. You had a lot of highlights that were pretty blown out. Have you CCed yet?

4. A lot of the clips could use a little tightening down.

i liked it, didn't watch the whole thing though since it's so long. couple things, i noticed a fair amount of over exposed shots, and i think you could've made the edit fit the second song a lot better. you definitely have sick riders, awesome opportunity to make some banger stuff.

cool, thanks much!

I've done no CC, right now im working on consolidating this edit, thinning out the intro and taking out some of the "easy" tricks, maybe a few kickflips

As far as sound I'm working on it. When I slowed down the clips ( mainly the kickflip off the roof, and the nollie flip over the ten stair) the sound for the whole clip sounded like shit, so I just put the volume up so you can hear the landing and the pop, but it definitely doesnt sound natural, or good at all

Im working on making it shorter right now! definitely stoked both you guys pointed out the length to me, because the best "segment" is the last one.

theres not enough movement in the edit, you need some up close follow cam shots (fi you have a fisheye) and those lifestyle shots really didnt seem to flow weell

You enjoy hearing praise after every single trick? Save it for those that matter. And DJ... I'm sure they could have spent more time finding a song that actually flowed.

excellent video. I wouldnt name it a video, more of a mini movie. give it a title. its a wrap. weird slow mo sounds though. and less self praise. only after some of the bangers

I definitely overlooked the "praise" I was going for "hype" likewise a few more shots of "stoked ppl" made it in than I realized...

Still pretty confused on what dj your talking about, are you talking about the songs? , which one didn't you like? all of them?


make sure you guys are watching the final one, and not the one in the op (unless youre interested to see the difference between the final and my first cut)

Bc it felt like a mini movie kinda feel. alot more clips for places. I could see where you traveled from place to place. Idk. I just liked it more. Youre a excellent editor
