Not a fan of beer

i don't really like beer, in spite of being legal. (ie. i'm plenty old enough to have started to like beer, which many people say comes with time).
i've never liked beer at any point in my life.

apparently because of this, i'm wierd as fuck. i cannot believe how much shit i get for not drinking. why can't people get over it?

But for real, I can see why some people don't like beer. To me the taste isn't all that appealing, maybe because I'm don't drink a tonne I don't know. I have a friend who hates beer too.

I have started to drink more and more and I have started to like the taste of beer. A couple days ago I took 8 shots of tequila, blah that stuff was gnarly. After about two hours later this girl hands me a beer and I took a sip and it was so refreshing. I was drunk siting back on the deck of a homies house enjoying how good my beer tasted. In my opinion at that momment in time there was nothing better to drink than a a cold beer to wash away that after taste of tequila. I used to be timid of getting drunk but know it has showed me its a great way to bond and meet new people. Everyone is so damn friendly when they are drunk, its great.

for most of high school, i hated beer. throughout senior year, it grew a ton on me, now as a freshman in college i love it. just give it some time

I hated beer until I was like 19. I mean even sipping good beer would gross me out because it just all tasted bad to me. Eventually I ended up taking a liking to it though and now its all I drink. I even went to beer tasting school last year to learn about it.

This may sound retarded and condescending but I think that your taste for beer and other forms of alcohol will come with age. If you don't like it then that's that, but just give it some time and don't worry about it.

If people harsh you for not drinking then tell them to fuck off. Fuck the critics and the cynics.

I'm fucked when it comes to drinking because I'm gluten intolerant.

I'm turning 21 in less than twenty-four hours though and I'm going to get fucked up anyway! just thought i'd throw that out there because i'm pretty stoked

I can say after doing this for years I am starting to build a taste tolerance for it. I can just drink it like its water now, not that I dont get drunk but the taste doesnt bother me.

You should try some wheat beers, there are some really good ones that dont taste you traditional beer. Thats what I actually really like.

Beer is a crazy thing. Out of high school you drink keystone and shit because its all that's available. Yeah, it sucks, but its just part of the game. then you realize you wouldn't mind having a beer with your meal, and start experimenting with different brews and food pairings Then you start liking the beers you thought we're the the most disgusting. Porters, stouts, IPAs then become a thing of the norm. It's just like wine for me now. I used to think it all was shit. Box wine was good enough for me back when. Then you start to appreciate different tastes, mouth feels, etc.. And it's a whole new world of awesome drinks that make life a little better.

i mean you can say blaahhh all you want but thats what I like. They are my taste buds...you have your taste buds.

I like some dark beers recently I have been drinking guinness a lot which is a pretty big change from wheat beers. I have also been trying and liking a lot more IPA stuff. So like I said I am actually learning to like stuff but wheat beer is just what I really like.

the only beer i drink is the beer i make, and i don't even like it that much. i really don't enjoy the amount i have to drink to get drunk off beer, or how i feel when I'm drunk off beer. 96% of the time i drink it's hard liquor.

That's the beauty of beers. You can drink what you like, there are so many different varieties. Some like wheats, some like ales, some like stouts. Shit I know folks in there 50s who live on Miller light...

I was like that when I first started drinkin. It wasn't till I really forced myself to drink it, that i started to develop a taste for it. Took about 50 beers or so edited I thought it tasted good.

I actually love the taste of a nice cold beer. Depends on the beer though. Try a Mexican beer, such as Sol or Corona, they are usually lighter and more mellow. For me I absolulely love bud light lime, sol and MGD. Getting sidetracked... No you aren't weird for disliking beer. Lots of people don't like it. It's like the same thing as saying you don't like wine.

Come to Germany and try some of the beer here. It has been described before as a nectar from the gods. It is NOTHING like the shit they serve in America. I have been here for a year so far, and drank nothing but German beers for 6 months straight. Tried a Bud Light one night and was disgusted. If you try some of the German beers over here, and still don't like beer....Well then I guess you don't like beer.

because I love beer, but I can no longer drink hard liquor. I used to be able to chug it down no problem and get dickered in about 5 minutes but since I was around 17 I havn't been able to take shots without throwing them up in 10 minutes.

drinking kind of sucks anyways. but it's awesome at the same time. mixed feelings.

Do you dislike all beer? Cause thats just like saying you dislike sodas. They vary greatly from Coronas which is almost like water, to the darkest porters and stouts. Personally im not a big fan of the "regular" types but prefer the darker ones.

beer is crazy. Once you get a taste for it and appreciate it you can taste all the flavors. My favorite thing is that no two are the same. The stages of flavor freak me out. I just had a local called Tannen Bomb, start off was sweet, then an avalanche of malt took ove my tongue, then it finished with a really smooth hoppy taste. thats why i love beer, what other drinks are that complex? Mmmmm vanilla porter, coffee/chocolate/vanilla....dessert beer

For most of my teenage years I hated beer. Vodka was my go to alcohol of choice. Screwdrivers all around!

Now I'm a borderline alcoholic when it comes to beer, can't stand Vodka, but I'll drink it if it's available and I have no beer.

Not sure what you should take from that. Beer is delicious though, just stay away from the mass produced crap if you can afford it.


Question: if you don't like beer, what type of alcohol do you like? A nice spiced rum (or dark rum if I'm in the mood) is my go to if I'm not in the mood for beer).
