Anyone in Environmental Management?

I'm currently in my second year of a 2-year diploma Environmental Technician program, and next year I have the option of transfering right into third year of an Environmental Management undergrad program at a university. Anyone on NS taking this major or something similar? I'm just kind of curious if anyone has graduated with an environmental management undergrad or something similar and what their job is like, pay etc.

Or just any opinions from people with insight would be appreciated too.

I am thinking about going into some sort of environmental science field but I still am not 100% decided. I am definitely interested in this thread though.

my friend does a similar program and is doing super well. It's a 5 year program though. He is getting great co op jobs and already has full time job offers at 50 and 60k a year.

My friend I mentioned above does a lot of work with the government. Waste management, new highways and infrastructure, new building plans, they all need an environmental expert these days.

Water Quality/treatment, waste management and treatment, environmental assessments, consulting work, audits, government work, those are just a few examples.

The university I would be attending also makes graduates eligible for wildlife biologist certification.

I'm an earth science major with a minor in geography and anthroplogy and a concentration in geology. It's the fucking tits. And OP most companies have an environmental office now a days. You could find a job almost anywhere. The big city working environmental issues for buildings. Or go work for USGS, or the national park system, or ski resorts have year round environmental jobs.

I am gonna finish my undergrad then get my masters though so this is all info i have gotten from friends who have done similar things with it.

i don't know what "environmental management" is but i graduated in environmental studies which i assume is similar. i currently work at a non-profit group doing grassroots advocacy. it's an awesome job but i was lucky to get it. jobs are pretty limited in the non-profit area, but there are other environmental type jobs that might have more hiring going on. my advice is to take classes that you are interested in and that relate to each other. the environmental job market is so wide ranging you have to specialize to stick out. you're not gonna get a job being a company's "environmental guy" by having general knowledge on a bunch of issues. get an internship at a place you want to work. it will probably be unpaid but if you work your ass off they might offer you something or at least give you a good reference.

I earned a bs in natural resources from oregon state, spring 2011. I learned so much cool shit, took awesome classes that were super easy. After i graduated i decided to earn stay in school and take the prereqs for dental school because, well, i dont wanna make zero dollars when im 50. I want to be retired when im fifty. It changed my life so much though. When i retire i wanna buy a damaged wetland and restore it
