Subaru Wheel Plasti Dip Question

Hey Y'all I am wondering if anybody is experienced with plasti dip for rims.
I have a 2005 subaru wrx in blue. Anyway, Until sumer I am gonna be tight for cash with college. Is anyone familiar with plasti dip? I am wondering your opinions on it and if I should do my rims with it. I have been doing some research and it seems like it would be a good improvement (cosmetic) until I can get enough cash for new rims.

Since I have a blue wrx I like the look of the gold rally rims so I am considering doing gold plasti dip.
So I am looking for any input / how to make it look best. Thanks

yeah ive done it to my scooby just messing around. mine came out like shit cause i ran out and it was a very light coat. But it is easy to peal off in like 10 seconds if u dont like it. make sure u do a thick coat tho becuase my light coat was a bitch to get off

plastidip is good for what it is, its not real durable but man is it cheap, if you plan on changing the wheels( its wheels btw, saying rims makes you look like a poser), then I would do it, but if thats the set youre going to keep powder coat them instead

plasti dip is cheap as fuck. I did it to my winter wheels. take the wheel off and use a deck of cards around the tire ( like insert them at an angle so you dont spray the tire) and go at it, comes off fairly easy too.

i did it to my 08 wrx on a few spots. back chrome piece and on the grill and wheels too. fun little easy project. it helped me decude what color wheels id like. ill post pics when i gwt home.

painted the mustache from light grey to black. the grill is an sti grill.

Plasti-dip is dope, but I don't recommend going gold... I just feel like it would look shitty. Black is the way to go, and white. My friend has a GTI with white plasti-dipped wheels and it looks good. Just don't expect it to last forever.

I can't stand the back end of the 08-10 wagon. Hate the tail lights and shape of the rear end. I love this color too. The new 11-12 shape though is so sexy.

The key to plastidip is making sure the wheels are completely clean/dry then using light coats until you get the desired color. Use the playing card trick and take your time.
