if you're not afraid of a long drive go through van to stuff like baker, then oregon (mt bachelor, mt hood/timberline) through to California and ski mammoth maybe even bear mountain if you like park. I'm sure there's tons of great resorts in between all of those places, you could then go east to the rockies so utah (park city and a bunch of other great places), and then colorado (aspen, break etc.) then i would go northwest through the rockies (wyoming and montana) then maybe banff or something around there in canada and then back home. (I live near Vancouver and thats basically my dream trip in a couple of years, so much good skiing to be had in northwest us and the rockie)
Last winter my brother and I went west. We did 11 mountains in 12 days. Some I would have skipped though... its pretty tiring on you day after day, especially on a budget. And SO MUCH SNOW. We hit, in order...Baker, Stevens Pass, Mission Ridge, Alpental, Crystal, White Pass, Mt. Hood Meadows, Timberline, Ski Bowl, Bachelor, Willamette pass. Baker, Stevens, Crystal, Hood, Whitepass, and Bachelor all had a shit ton of snow...especially Baker. Nothing like Sleeping in shitty hotels and random cabins with no heat. But I would do it again in a heartbeat. One of the best experiences of my life though. This year we are planning a smaller trip since the last hit the wallet so hard. Going to try and do Jackson, Whitefish, Big Sky, Schweitzer, and Sun Valley. I recommend a PCNW trip though.
i live in montana and i was thinking of making a loop up through canada, or west through idaho and washington and then down south to cali and then east over to utah and back up through jackson, wy if my friends dont have a passport. i don't think you can go wrong with a ski road trip, especially if this winter is snowy.
