but its a huge step in the right direction. its essentially replacing the red card from what i understand, by which i mean pretty similar rules, just none of that having to go through a doctor every year nonsense.
who the hell carries around more than an ounce at a time anyway? and to the post you quoted. 52% probably means it won't pass as it grows closer to voting day more people will decide against it.
you want it to stay illegal so you can get away with driving impaired? thats the most asinine argument ive probly heard.
Right now the only people opposed to this legislation are people who want to drive while smoking and people who own dispensaries and dont want to lose their control over the market. pass this shit, no reason not too.
CO and OR have similar initiatives, all three states need to get this done in november
state law absolutely trumps federal law, atleast thats the way the constitution was originally drafted
Here it is, straight out of the bill of rights: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
Im pretty stoked for this as a resident of Colorado. Im spectacle of what it will actually be like considering the legal shit storm that is going to inevitably take place at the state and federal level after this passes (which it is looking like it will have no problem doing). Im particular interested in what the Feds will do, people have been asking the attorney general Eric Holder about what the administration will do if this passes and he has yet to say anything of course. Anyways, I could easily see this ending up as a huge supreme court case. If the Feds do anything to prevent it than it'll be interesting to see if they can get away with it. I cant remember the last time the feds stopped an initiative passed on a state ballot so I think the states will have an advantage. Hopefully the don't regulate the fuck out of it though. I don't wanna be able to buy nothing but brick weed for 15 dollars a gram. That'd be bull shit.
true, i guess i was thinking about the interstate commerce clause which is what the federal gov. uses to wave its dick around at the states and control shit. I guess weed in WA is an intra-state thing so the feds couldnt touch it. I'm also not "high as shit" because im taking a T-break today (thats right, 1 day t-break, get on my level)
It has been tested with Heavy to moderate smokers. Max was 10 blunts a day, somewhere around there (at least in the one study I read) and only one person went over the 6 hours but they were a heavy smoker and that was once. I read the study a month or so a go so I can't quite remember who did it or what the study was called.
The THC doesn't really build up for these tests since they only test for the active thc like a stated above. The active thc is usually lower than 5 nano grams a couple hours after consumption.
They don't test for the THC-COOH compounds since it is a byproduct of thc as it is processed through the liver. So don't pay attention to the hashed line.
Aslo, right now it is zero tolerance for everyone. and they use tests that pick out the thc stored in fat. So this is a move forward even though you aren't impaired at 5 nano grams it is better than what the law is now. You shouldn't trip unless you are burning bowls in your car as you are driving. The only reason they would test you is if you smelled like pot.
So while were on the topic, my girl just got me this little rig for by 21st birthday a couple of days ago. Which is relevant because this means that I'll be able to legally blaze! So yeah, turning 21 was just brought to a whole new level here in Colorado haha.
That was a guess, if I think back, the first time I smoked was because it was illegal and I wanted to be a badass. I didn't smoke a cigarette untill three years after that. It would most likely not be heroine, probably molly or extacy.
I'm not talking about people who are old enough to know the full effects of chemical drugs, i'm talking about people who are in grade 8-10 who are just doing stuff to be a badass.
It isn't the drug that changes what you do, its your eggo that allows you to try new things. Marijuana doesn't make me want to go off and try other drugs. My curiosity does just the same way I started smoking pot. If you jump to other drugs quickly you may have an addictive personality. Its not the pot making you do it its your mind set.
I got pulled over with an eighth in my pocket once in Seattle. They put me in the backseat of the car for about 5 minutes to ask me about meth and other drugs. When he was convinced I only smoked pot he let me go. (Took my weed of course) When I went to court to get arraigned, the judge was like, "this is a waste of everyones time to proceed with these charges, if you are okay with paying an administrative fee to the clerk we can settle this today." And I was like sounds good. Long story short the punishments are super lax in Washington anyway.
seattle voted to make pot arrests the lowest police priority which is awesome but eastern washington is a different story and you will definitely get in trouble still.
VERY IMPORTANT. Don't listen to the medical marijuana people because in this situation most of what they are saying is propaganda because I-502 will effectively ruin the medical marijuana system as it is now. I have talked to dispensary employees saying that all of their patients who medicate daily will always be over 5ng/mL but that is not active THC. Like a piss test tests for THC in fat cells and that is why if you go to rehab or any sort of testing where they monitor the ng levels it is often over 100 in regular smokers, but the active THC will be much less. And unless you're red-eyed and smelling like a pound they shouldn't have any reason to test you. IMO I-502 is a huge step and shows the support for recreational legalization.
Not really. We need to get away from this whole kinda legal, decrim, this and that and just fucking legalize shit. The real problem is the stupid general public. The fact that many people are too fucking stupid to know what good these days. Then the one that aren't just don't fucking do anything about it. The fact that people still vote for some of these people is insane.
The bill is going after drugged driving too. You can argue well if you're not super fucked up.... but when the fuck do cops just let things slide? Very rarely.
If you want to legalize weed fucking legalize it. If somebody is driving like a fucking clown and they're stone go after them. If somebody is driving like a fucking idiot but just changing their ipod, go after them.
You don't need extra laws just for the sake of having some fucking shitty laws. It's already illegal to drive like a dbag. If you're driving fine and high, it shouldn't matter that you're high.
If it doesn't do any of that let me know. My brain is pounding right now and nothing is curbing that. So my deciphering skills are fucked. This post might not make any sense in that case and my apologies.
Legalizing bud is like climbing a step ladder. First comes dispensaries, then comes decriminalization, and full legalization follows.
If you are driving like a clown and you are stoned you are fucking up. The main reason people are caught for driving stoned is because the car smells of marijuana. If you be smart and take precautions you will not get caught unless you are actually in fact too stoned to drive. Right as we speak there is no tolerance what so ever of thc being in your system while operating a vehicle so nothings going backwards.
Caution. I decided to rant about 99 different things. Read at your own risk. These meds aren't kicking in and my brain hurts. I need to make some food and go sleep. Gnarly fever mode rant.
-------------------------------
I remember that age where smoking weed was about being badass. I've heard people say "I don't want weed to be legal because then it wouldn't be as much fun"
If weed is legalized it'll just be smoked even more freely and frequently than it is now. People are going to swicth to other drugs to be more badass. Well maybe a couple dumbasses.
Somebody posted about the quality of molly. That's another great reason to legalize drugs.
We need to stop putting people in jail that don't belong there.
The amount of people in this country in jail is sick. The growth of that rate is fucked.
The war on drugs has nothing to do with keeping people safe. More to do with keeping people under control.
Even if you think the war on drugs has the peoples best interests in mind(which it sure fucking doesn't) it's still the your right as an adult to do what you want in the comfort of your own homes.
For the people that bitch about driving. It's illegal to drive like an asshole, and it's def illegal to drive like an asshole while fucked up.
The quality of the drug supply blows, so now young kids are putting all kinds of chemicals into their bodies that have god knows what long term effects. It's fucking sick.
You have kids od'ing on bathsalts, smoking spice, I mean wtf spice? And people actually think the drug war is to keep people safe. Jesus christ people are dumb.
There's that whol, ZOMG IF WE LEGALIZE SHIT THEN LIKE EVERYONES GONNA DO IT. If we put our effort into real education and not this bullshit scare tactic d.a.r.e. style propoganda, I feel we could actually curb drug use. IF heroin is legalized tomorrow, how many of you are going to go buy some? Probably not many. Will some people? Of course, but that will taper down. That's to be expected with any radical change.
I would much rather know that people were doing clean drugs from a lab that are held to strict standards, have dosage instructions and that if things go wrong people won't be afraid to call for help.
If the drug war is to keep people safe it's sure doing a shitty fucking job. That's all just on the main point. We also have drug cartels doing all kinds of fucked up shit, gangs making ridiculous amounts of money to buy guns. Then we just use that to give us a reason to increase the drug war, increase the amount of police, and take down some more freedoms. Lets have gang turf wars in our neighborhoods over drug sales, that's so fucking healthy.
Now we got those sweet borderless check points within 100 miles of out borders. So sweet you can get everything you get when crossing an international border driving around America. Fucking lovely.
I'm glad we vote for these people and argue about whether obama or romney had a nicer neck tie.
Good job America.
Land of the somewhat free, home of the straight up ignorant.
This buds for you. Because after all you might as well enjoy a shitty over priced beer that you love because there's so much advertising around you.
