Bindings & Boots for the long run

Hey guys, I haven't skied in about 2 years and I just bought a pair of last year's Chronics. Obviously I need bindings and boots haha. I am looking for bindings and boots that will last as long as my Chronics do (hopefully 4 - 6 years).

So, I know I'm going to buy used boots that are relatively new because I need to go to my local shop to try some pairs on. I also want to buy the bindings new. I won't need a DIN any higher than 10 or so because I'm 165 max.

What are the most bombproof bindings that arent dangerous (cough Deadbolts cough)?

chances are you wont get 4 to 6 years out of your chronics or your bindings, boots you probably could but if you ski park youre gonna go through skis like crazy at least i do. look pivots and rossi fks seem really durable tho i see kids with old ass pivots that still looks pretty new

What does this even mean? What is wrong with Deadbolts?

The original Deadbolts had a bad release that "caused" some injuries. That was the word 5 or 6 years ago whenever they came out

They did. They are a Tyrolia platform now, the same as the Tyrolia Peak series just rebranded for 4FRNT. The old ones that I've heard about were on a VIST platform I believe. They even admitted they weren't very good which is why they switched and now have a very good binding to sell.

Having said that I honestly recommend Peaks/Deadbolts.

But if they are forever tainted in your mind, the next place to look in my opinion is the Salomon STH Driver series and the Rossi/Look, FKS/Pivot

Even a few year old STH12 Drivers or 916s will do. You could probably find some for a pretty cheap price, and really, such a bomber binding. Alot of pros still riding 916s. Same with pivots, not hard to come by, and a safe option as they have all stood the test of time. Good luck with your search!

If you want a binding thats gonna last forever then FKS/Pivot is the best option. I have 5 pairs of them now with the oldest being from 1989, Look Z7, and they preform just as good as my 2007 FKS 155 world cups.
