i remember when Red Bull was throwing newschool skiing competitions in 2003 when no one gave a fuck about freestyle skiing, that company is insane. Big ups to their long history of spending money on shit that inspires people instead of more billboards in times square.

ITs not like government is cutting the whole budget out. The budget from 2011 was 18 billion. The budget this year is set at 17.7, and it will be decreasing every year. Its still a lot money to do some pretty crazy shit with. What people dont understand is they really arent cutting funding for NASA, that would just doom the U.S economy. But what they did was cut the funding for the shuttle program. They are doing research for a different type of manned rocket

NASA's budget is 0.48% of the federal budget.

But still with this small budget it doesnt allow them to go to the moon, or go to mars.

Back in the 60's when we went to the moon, NASA's budget was 4% of the total fed Budget.

well the Federal budget is $3.6 trillion. Adjusted for inflation the Apollo program cost a total of $109 billion.

So a repeat of the Apollo program would only be 3% of the Federal budget for ONE year.

Also, since they had to pioneer most of the technologies at the same time, the costs were billions and billions more than it would be today.

So let's spread it over 5 years, and put another man on the moon!! Would only cost 0.5% of the budget a year.

I'm about 100% certain that's not true. They come from the same guy who did the sagan series. I mean...I suppose he could be on ns, I think he's from vancouver, but that would be claimed hardcore all the time.
