Medical marijuana has started to anger me lately. They are the reasons that initiatives to legalize/decriminalize marijuana have not passed. They are clearly medical marijuana is hell bent on setting up legal monopolies on this plant, they sell weed for more than it should. It is clear they are not for the "patients" don't let them fool you.

In Washington they argue that the 5ng test will put patients in danger of a DUI, in California they got patients to bring down prop 19 a few years back. The same is happening in Colorado, most of the medical industry is against moving forward.

Their arguments are invalid. The fact is no one is able to drive under the influence of marijuana even if they have the right to smoke it medically. If they tested you today they would test for fat soluble cannabinoids that stay in your system for weeks. If you test positive and you haven't smoked in a week you have a possibility of getting a DUI. The new test will test for active cannabinoids and you usually only spike over 5ng for 2-6 hours depending how much you smoke. Dispensaries always make up these stupid claims "its not full legalization" "Our patients will be at risk from the laws in this initiative." It's clear that dispensaries are in for the money and no longer for the move forward. Legalization and even decriminalization will keep many people out of the jails and it is the path needed to be taken for full legalization of bud.

Why is anyone arguing about this? Are many dispensaries in it for everybody more than just patients? Of course. Does it matter? Hell no.

Drugs shouldn't be illegal. It's fucking retarded that they are and I applaud the efforts of keeping the dank nuggets flowing.

Its the fact that they are against moving forward and how easily they are able to influence the buyers. Some kid thought I was being a troll saying that I hardly see any actual patients in a dispensary, that doesn't mater because medijuana is a loophole and is/was a good one, but its time to pass these initiatives and move forward to better things.

They aren't against weed I never said that. Dispensaries just want to stick with what they have know so they profit more, to do that they fool their patients to vote against initiatives. Not any different than what other cooperate businesses do. Its not that hard to understand. There is a lot of money to be made with selling cannabis especially if private businesses are able to sell it and require you to pay them upfront $300 to get your card. The idiots are the people that fall for what the dispensaries say. Read up man. Dispensaries caused prop 19 to fall in California a couple years back. Not saying that will happen this year but I have seen them pushing around bullshit propaganda and people buy it.

ok but it's not even about falling for what the dispensaries say. they make $ while herb is illegal duh but they are just about the smallest player in that game lol. i get what you're concerned about, but it's you that should read up if you actually want to know where the real $ supporting the prohibition is coming from...

It sounds like you are running with the wrong crowd. I chose the dispensary that I did as my primary care giver because they set a good image for the industry. They have a very strong relationship with there growers (way beyond what state law requires), they sell an ounce at the same price rate ($/g) as an eighth (to discourage patients reselling), and they treat you like a patient, not a stoner.

Support dispensaries who have good business practices.

Obviously they don't spend millions against legalization, or close to any money. Im never said that. If they did they could say good by to a good percent of their customers. They don't need to spend much money against legalization, they advertise their shit every time you enter their shop or go on their sites. In California medical patients brought down the initiative and voted against it.

I doubt they will be successful like I said earlier. It just annoys me when people go out and rally against legalization when they are in fact stoners who don't know shit. I had this big debate with my friend about it because he got tricked now he has sided with me once I showed him what the law actually was and studies behind the DUI test he changed his mind.

This is weird. I bought chronic from my dispensary (35 1/8) which was below market, and my card costed 160 for everything doctors visit included. Dispensaries make money, get over it.

I definitely support dispensaries that have good business practices but so many have popped up around my town its crazy. On my way to work in the summer I would pass probably 10 or so dispensaries and thats within about 3 or 4 miles. There are definitely dispensaries that are on the bottom end that I have been to. Although I am a big fan of the farmers markets.

Dispensaries have helped us move forward in many ways. Allowing society to slowly adapt and accept cannabis. So don't take it that I am against all of them. There are plenty of good ones. I guess I probably have made the trip to too many low end dispensaries trying to get free things on my first visits or just trying a new place out. I have a favorite in my area right now that I go to to get my concentrates.

People that own dispensaries need to pay bills too just like the rest of us and have big expenses such as overhead, staff and lawyers on retainers to keep on top of all the changing laws. Yeah some are greedy or are in upscale places and charge higher prices but that is why you can always just choose to support cheaper or more low-key ones. I agree the scene (At least in CO) has changed alot since 3-4 years ago due to the industry growing and more regulation on who can sell product to dispensaries. Back in the day when I grew in Boulder we would make brownies and sell it to a local shop. (The trick is to put fresh ginger in them to hide the after taste and it make you digest it quicker) How you can complain about an industry that gave birth to weed chai tea and about every other cool product like suckers etc is beyond me. Shit this one place even had custom order cannabis birthday cakes you could order.

I'm just upset with the greedy shops that take advantage of people. Of course there are good ones that I have no problem with at all. I am fed up with patients against I-502 and their reasoning. One of their arguments is people under 21 who are exposed to second hand marijuana smoke will get a DUI if they drive. Their reasoning is stupid. You can't expect full on legalization with out some rules or laws. This Initiative was written to pass, not to make stoners happy and go no where. I am positive I-502 and Colorado's law will pass

I want a link to a credible source that says that the new inicitive does not restrict any of my fellow stoners from driving until 3 days.

I live in wa fyi and ive heard plenty of this. i cant get to the fucking bottom.

I do know what you mean about some taking advantage of patients. I remember when things first started to blow up and a lot of dispensaries would try to scam you into signing over your caregiver rights then being dicks if you want to change. This one place even wanted you thumb print which I thought was pretty sketchy. It is a delicate balance with the new legislation with the I-502 and the DUID policy as it could screw over people pretty bad even if your not driving high, especially when they already have tests to determine if your too high to drive such as the "Count to 60" test. In all I think it is a bad compromise with these provisions as it will be hard to reverse and the DUID stats could later be manipulated and used to enact harsher legislation again.
