Any experience with ML on t1i/500D

I am curious about the stability of ML on the t1i. It apparently opens up manual video controls and I am skeptical. Does anyone on here have experience using it? +K for honest help, -K for get a t2i. I am debating buying this camera, I may have a local hookup.

I have heard it is pretty useful, but I have no experience. Just wondering though, what is your budget, and how much would you be paying for the t1i?

ideally it will be around 350 for the t1i and a tammy 17-50 plus some extra stuff, i'm potentially going to use it as a gateway to a t3i or 60d if it works out. I would only have the body for a few months, i am just wondering if the video is at all usable prior to getting a newer body. I would be buying mostly for the lens. Im not questioning the purchase, more the usefulness of ML with the camera in question.

It's useable. it does 720@30fps, right?

You don't get the 24fps cinematic look, really, but you get much smoother motion, so for skiing and such, it's really not too bad - especially if you're going to slow things down a little bit.

I havce a t1i with magic lantern. It really making it like 500% better. Without it it really makes the camera bad for video but with it its great.
