Do your parents buy your ski gear?

people on this website frequently make fun of each other by suggesting that "mommy buys all your ski stuff for you," so im curious as to how often that actually happens. BE HONEST! theres no shame in admitting that your mom or dad supports your endeavors, and im curious to see how everyone matches up.

im 19 and i usually have to buy my own clothes, helmet, goggles, and other outerwear things. the more expensive things like boots and bindings and skis i can generally convince my dad to buy for me as long as its in reason. if i want something less necessary, however, i usually have to buy it for myself, like powder skis (im on the east coast).

what about you? its fine if you say that every single one of your 40 jiberish hoodies was bought by your mom, or if your parents dont love you and make you fend for yourself entirely.

my dad bought skis up until last year and he bought my bdog jacket, my helmet and poles and i'm hoping he buys my news snow pants for christmas
this year, i bought my goggles, new helmet, skis, bindings, rented boots.

18, still in high school. I pay for all of my outerwear, my skis and bindings were a bday gift from my parents, I pay for gas, and I split the cost of a pass with my dad.

My Dad always hooks it up with whats needed and that usually only Skis and bindings each year.

18, and my parents don't ski at all, so I've always had to buy my own gear and passes. Got goggles as a christmas present last year, and they always paid for skiing if it was a gym class field trip, but that's about it.

Am I the only parent out there that buys their kids gear for them? I consider it equipment for their sport of choice, and just as we paid for our oldest son's hockey gear, team fees, ice time etc.....we also pay for our kids ski gear and pass, at least while they are in highschool.

My parents give me 100$ every Christmas for skiing related things, so its usually a college season pass or a gift card to a sports shop. I'm 22 naow

My mom will hook me up with ski socks, under armor base layers, and some shirts. When I was in high school I got race skis and a park setup. For my park skis I did work for them by mowing the lawn and my grandmas lawn over the summer.

My mom bought my skis up until college really, when i didnt change my equipment at all. From here on out I pay for everything. Passes, equipment, outerwear.

i get my pass and 2 others for free (work at the mountain)
this year i bought new skis for myself. other than that my outerwear was paid for by my parents.

I buy all my own outerwear, helmets, goggles, etc. But for my B-Day I would get my parents to do a 50/50 on some skis or bindings, where i pay half

For this season i bought my jacket, pants, and helmet. My skis my parents bought a couple years ago, my boots were passed down to me. And my dad randomly bought me a pair of goggles after I broke mine on a fall.

I've bought my skis, but my parents helped me out with the bindings. My pants, hoodies and vest I bought myself, but I got my jacket as a birthday present. So I guess I'm lame to a certain degree.

I've payed for every piece of gear I've ever owned, unless I get a new coat this season. The $150 I got for my 18th from my parents might go towards a new coat.

my parents buy all my stuff except hoodies and random things. i'm 18 in college and really fucking lucky. i do have to get a loooottttt of use out of something for my parents to replace it though

Plum nothing. I like it that way; ...no word of a lie. It's the best feeling to think " I'm doing this because I've made it possible." Though, my parents do go out of their way to get me where I need to go.
