Hey All-
I wanted to chime in on this one before it gets out of control... while we always go the extra mile to hook up our customers with the best service possible, lining up free iTunes downloads for the hundreds of DVD and BluRay pre-orders just isn't realistic.
Our pre-orders through the Level 1 site are still, in my opinion, one of the best deals out there- between the free UA T and some of the cheapest pricing of any of the major flicks, its definitely worth it for those looking to own a hard copy.
The timing of the iTunes and DVD/BluRay shipping is pure coincidence- we actually had expected to receive our DVDs here in the office weeks ago, but delays at an already backed up plant pushed things back longer then we anticipated. Same for iTunes- we were aiming for a release a few weeks back but just finally got the green light from Apple QC two days ago.
The unfortunate reality of both situations is that once we send out our master for replication or digital distribution, timing is really out of our hands and we have to cross our fingers and hope things move as quickly as possible.
While we could probably have cut corners in the post production process and gotten this year's film in everyones hands a few weeks earlier, we spent 10 days straight up until our World Premiere agonizing over each and every video frame and audio clip in our effort to put out the best movie we could. The Monday morning following the premiere we shipped out our master copies, and since then have been crossing our fingers and holding our breath, hoping for the quickest turnaround possible.
To all those waiting on your pre-orders we've taken every step possible to make sure we'll be shipping as quickly and efficiently as we can when DVDs/BluRays show up on Monday. Packaging is pre-labeled and stacked to the ceiling...
We think the movie is well worth the wait, but if anyone disagrees we'll gladly offer you a full refund.
