HE WAS DRUNK.

People, as a rule, do dumb shit when they're drunk. Add the high that just coming home from winning the war will give you, and I'd say about the sanest thing that any drunk dude might do is make out with a girl in the street.

Consent is important. Peoples' bodies should be respected. But before anyone hauls off about rape culture from an incidence of non-consensual kissing, we need to remember that alcohol was involved.

Nowhere did I say that rape is ok in any circumstance. You're making the same stupid logical jump as the article--that sexual assault is rape, that kissing and forced penetration are the same things. There are shades of grey here, and they deserve to be given honest scrutiny, not quick, shrill condemnation.

People are still culpable for their actions when they're drunk. No question there. I'm merely stating that it seems more likely that a drunk dude would randomly kiss a lady on the street than one who wasn't tanked.

After that the woman in question herself has said that the kissing wasnt mutual its terrible to downplay it as "something that anyone would do if they were drunk" or "come on give the guy I break he just won a war".

Not jumping to conclusions or stating any facts to bring the hate, but...

If I were to kiss a chick I hadn't seen in a while and my hands up there, its certainly with my palm inwards. If your laying a chick back to kiss her, surely your hand would be would be open holding her weight??

she's not grabbing a tie. he's not wearing a tie. just that black bow thing. certainly nothing around his neck that's the colour of what's in her hand. This leads me to believe she was carrying something and her right hand went up between them to try and push him off.
