Beaver Creek

Yo, i'm from Chile and this year im gonna go for the first time to Beaver Creek. I got a job there for the hole season. My questions are, how is the park, nightlife, ppl from there (girls), is it expensive? Also i own some volkl gotamas (2009) i know it doesn't snow that much, so i'm wondering if I bring those or buy some park skis there. Finally if anybody know about housing there pls tell me about it. Thx

The park is not bad. You can definitely have a good time and they've got a good amount of rails and features. I would say that if you could bring your gotamas and buy park skis, that would be ideal, but if you can only bring one pair I would say you would get more use out of park skis.

You could also, if money permits, spend some days at vail or even key/breck. Vail is only about 20 minutes away and the back bowls can be great after a storm. They also have a fun park that's not usually too crowded. Breck and Keystone are something like 40-60 minutes away and have amazing parks if you can make it down there. Good luck man, I'm sure you'll have fun.

I used to work there, it was a blast. Go to vail at night and party you can take the turtle bus there and back for like $5. Plus there is tons of chicks in vail every night.

I suggest their employee housing, it is actually really nice and ski in ski out.

Park is good, tree skiing is awesome.

Its a sweet area have fun man

Hey man! welcome to the area! The Valley is a blast and in the winter it gets even better. Honestly I am not too familiar with Beaver Creek in particular but as far as the whole valley goes its a good time.

as far as nightlife agave is right by beaver creek and has some awesome shows and probably has the among the larger turnouts for most things. In the vail village there's whiskey jacks they have a latin night or somethign, its gets pretty rowdy sometimes, also the george is fun. Sorry though im not a huge bar guy.

Housing is cheapest in eagle vail and if you are looking for an apartment id maybe look into river run or Kayak Crossing we have a five bedroom and pay about 350 a month. There's eagle bend apartments that are a little bit closer to the beav.

If your looking for a good park to ride vail and beaver creek are not the best places to be looking to ride, although if your job is with vail resorts your employee pass will let you ride Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breck, abasin, and a couple mountains in Cali. I recommend that you try breck or keystone for the good park.

Hey man. I actually live in Beaver Creek, so i can give you the insider scoop.Idk how old you are but Im only 21 and the girls in Beaver Creek itself are older, but sometimes you get a rich single chick thats younger or someone on vacation with parents. In avon there younger and as you go down valley there are more and more single girls because cost of living gets cheaper.

The nightlife is OK but thats coming from Miami. Theres not too many clubs in Beaver or Avon. Just restaurants or small bars. If you are lucky you could meet the right person and be going to house parties a couple times a week in mansions. There are small clubs in Vail. Like 10 minutes away.

And for sure, Vail and Beaver Creek/Avon are extremely expensive. Literally they are two of the most expensive zip codes in the entire country, after aspen, and incline village nevada. That being said Beer and Food are as cheap as everywhere else. and Cheap bus system. And You dont have to pay for skiing cuz you work for them so you save there. You should be fine , many people make it, the hard part is getting here, once your here, youll last atleast a year. people will help you, and the resort especially will help you.

And idk who told you it doesnt snow here they lied. Your in for a treat. Beaver creek has one of the best directional faces in the country. it snows 310 inches but keeps alot, and the people who ski beaver creek come there for the GROOMERS and guess what. If you take the energy to seek out the little runs in between the groomers theres deep pow pow. And not to mention hike back 5 minutes from the top and you get some amazaingly spaced backcountry trees with untouched powder.

Working for Vail (they own beaver creek) your going to get an epic pass and be able to ski at breck, keystone, and a basin. Vail gets 350 inches, A basin gets closer to 400. Not to mention the 500 inch resorts in the next states over (only 6 hours drives to Alta or Jackson Hole) Your skis will not be to big. maybe to small.

you'll end up going to vail for park after you see the beav's park. it's not bad but vail's is way better. check out stone creek chutes and tree's off the birds of prey on pow days. have fun at the beav! one of the best resort vibes around and avon has some good party spots, you'll find em

actually Vail PC is changing the scene this season. as of this point, they aren't going to have different sized jump lines. they're planning on having all of the different sized jumps all beside each other. so unless you're planning on hiking, you only get 1 go each run. but they're moving the pipe down to bottom, so you can showboat there.

BC is dope. tree skiing is great there, even a week or two after a big storm. vail is only 10 minutes away. lots of girls from argentina looking for an american to give them a green card, which can be fun.

I'm 21 too men, and yeah aI will have a ski pass for like 6 mountains (all vail resorts I think) I surely will go to breck keystone and vail!

I'm from Argentina and I ashamed to say that you sir are right. Girls from Argentina tend to become sluts in Vail and BC, I've seen it. And guess what? They would rather be with an american guy than with us. So go ahead and take this excellent opportunity. Our girls are hands down the best ;)

Haha, I was just going to say this kid looks like he's 15 in his picture, doubt he has much experience at the bars.

I had an epic pass for 3 years in a row a couple years ago. As someone already said BC is fucking fantastic when it snows and great when it doesn't'. I like BC park better (this is 2-3 years ago) than Keystones or brecks. Reason? No crowds, you can take a high speed lift all the way to the top and hit multiple parks on the way down. I honestly have no idea why resorts don't do this, maybe because of the lay of the land.

That being said I'll ski BC over Vail any powder day. It has steeper terrain (in bounds, East Vail is rad as shit if you're certified and confident in the back country), it has WAY less people and it's rather protected. I love skiing A basin but mid febuary just blows dick if a strom rolls in where the trees @ BC protect you.

I've always shad fun getting drunk the few times I haven't stayed back in summit.

Beaver creek is such a hidden gem. I live in CA now and ski kirkwood. I bought the epic pass (another 250 bucks) just so I could come ski BC again for a bit, that's how much I love that place.

PS, FREE FUCKING COOKIES AT 3PM, ESCALATORS TO THE LIFTS, HOT RICH FOREIGN GIRLS IN FUR.

Powder sking is great specially because the tourists stay on the groomers and leave the fresh pow for us. On a powder day i would recomend grouse mountain, larksbur and stone creek shoots. You can ski untracked all day in a decent powder day, where in Vail it will get tracked out in a few hours. No lift lines EVER

Park is awesome, the Rodeo park has really nice features and a good fun jump line. Then at the top of the mountain you have the medium park which is flowy, mellow and real fun. So if you are in the top of the mountaing you can head down to the bottom and hit the top park then bunch of sick groomers and jumps in between the trees, and then get to Rodeo Park and finish it of with a fun small pipe.
AND ITS ALWAYS EMPTY

uh no, not really. You have to take two lifts to get to both parks. Also, both lifts are normally very crowded.

Here's the low-down on the Colorado pass parks (A-basin excluded because I've never skied park there mid-season):

If you want to quickly lap an empty park, go to Vail. Vail's park lift almost never has a line, and the park itself is always empty. Keystone has very short lift lines as well, but their park is always very crowded. Breck is the worst of the four. Both of its park lifts suffer from horribly long lift lines, and the park is ridiculously crowded. Park Lane (Breck's park) is the funnest park in Colorado, though, so you ought to check it out at least once.

Typical.... I'm a 'Beav local' response. Get over it buddy, if you haven't found better spots than those listed, you don't know the best spots. I haven't been there in 4+ years but can promise you there are better places than those listed.

I love Beaver Creek. In fact I like it a lot better then vail for a few reason. The first one is, that I find myself spending most of my day trying to get where I want to go at vail, because its sooooo huge. It takes a while to even get to the back bowls....Vail is amazing don't get me wrong. Not so good for park, not extremely steep, awsome bowls.
Beaver Creek rocks imo. When ever I go there, there are hardly, if any lift lines. The Stone chutes, are very very fun, lots of good powder to be had there. Like others have said BC has very good tree skiing in between most of their groomers. I lucked out last year and was standing right in front of the gate to the stone creek chutes, when ski patrol opened it up. This was on a weds morning, just after 3ft of power. BC website said they only got 16 inches, but the Chutes had chest deep powder, which I was lucky enough to ski un tracked all day long. I basically had the whole mountain to my self, that day.

beaver creek is sick, its got a nice underrated terrain park.(maybe not underrated but overshadowed by breck and keystone forsure) but its expensive as shit. get the epic pass you can go pretty much everywhere

Funny because like you said the epic or epic local pass is a HELL of a deal. Actually makes it one of the cheaper options on the west. Plus you get BC, Vail, Keystone, Breck, A basin, and Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood at tahoe. Hell of a deal if you ask me. Yes it is expensive for food, drinks, shopping ect...but I don't really go there for that stuff. I bring my own food, drink, and smoke. :)

I cant wait. I'm contemplating going for thanksgiving if weather permits. I hope it does, Even though I doubt the chutes will be open.

Welcome to the states man. You're going to love Beaver Creek. Their parks are pretty good and well maintained, and they have plenty of great steeps. Check out the birds of prey area for some pretty nice vertical and moguls. Not insane but still really nice. You really can't go wrong anywhere in Colorado. Vail is great for the back bowls, thousands of open, skiable acres and if you can get it on a pow day- you will be thrilled.
As far as the nightlife goes, Beaver Creek is more of a family resort, so I would recommend checking out the vail village. It's less than 10 minute drive. Just hop on I-70. If you want to stay at Beaver Creek, there are some cool restaurants there. Have fun!
