Iphone exchange/repair help

I have an iphone 4 with a crack in the screen (small but annoying as it affects functionality). I will be eligible for a new phone soon, but I will be studying abroad next semester, so I am going to hold off until I get back (won't be able to use it there, I have already looked into plans/unlocking and talked to friends who went last year). I know I can just get the screen replaced or do it myself, but I think there might be a few other issues. I found this on ebay, and I am looking for alternatives.

Basically I want to trade it in, but does anyone know if there is a cheaper way to do it? I would like it to be under $100, and just for reference I have the black 32gb one. So does anyone have any experience with this? and lastly as a side note, does anyone know any diagnostic sort of utility I could use to see if there are other problems? I have restored it a couple times, and I used to be really good at this stuff, but I just haven't had the time to stay up on it in the past few months.

As for diagnostic tools you can get a free checkup at any apple store that will tell you if theres any other problems besides the cracked screen.

If its a small crack just wait, but be careful. As soon as you crack you phone its like 100 times more likely to crack again. My roommate fixes iphones for $50 bucks + purchase of a screen which is like 20 but that doesn't help you that much ha. See if a 3rd party (aka not apple) store in your town/city fixes iphones, they'd do it for cheaper than apple.

thanks, the reason I want to exchange it if I can though is because I think there may be a few other things wrong with it. LIke its really quiet sometimes for calls, and just buggy, but I have restored it. And to gangnamsyle, thanks for the advice, but to put it simply it will be difficult for me to get to an apple store. I may be able to this weekend though, or at least an apple certified repair shop. Also the most annoying thing about the crack is that there is a dead zone on the bottom of the screen. like I can't pull up to text or switch windows in safari in portrait, and I can't use the bottom bars in some apps, plus the space bar usually takes a couple tries to hit, but then if I go to delete a photo (trash button is right under the crack), it works fine.
