Tokina question

So I found a Nikon mount tokina 11-16 for a good price and was wondering if anyone knows if it will adapt ok to EOS. I know the old manual Nikon lenses do but am unsure about this particular lens. Thanks for any help!

If you're using canon and plan on using canon, get the EOS mount.

Well yes.. but the reasons I ask are 1) its local, and about 150 bucks less then any canon mount I can find and 2) I will more then likely be upgrading to fs-100 or gh3 in a few months, so Im taking that into consideration too.

Basically I just want to know, will it work or not?

If you think you might be changing to another system, then it makes more sense to buy the Nikon version. Just make sure when you buy an adaptor it is the "G" type adapter that will be able to control the aperture, since the tokina doesn't have an aperture ring. One like this would probably be fine:

Adapting nikon "G" lenses isn't very simple for canon. But, if you are actually going to upgrade, it could be worth trying. The nice thing about tokinas is that they hold their value very well, you could buy a canon mount 11-16 now and sell it in 6 months for the same price, no problem.

Check out this adapter though, could be worth it.

Something like this will adjust the aperture of the "G" lens manually, you won't know what exact f stop you're at, but it will work.

Why not buy it for super cheap, sell it for more, buy a canon mount?
