I like Snowbasin for a change-up mtn when I'm not in PC or AltaBird, but I wouldn't pick it over Alta for your home base unless you live much closer to Ogden. It's a sick mountain with some big terrain and less crowded, but Snowbasin can get really windripped and on those days it's basically ice skating in hurricane force winds.
It is good skiing but Alta is a lot better. At basin there are a lot of ravines and you will end up at the same couple of spots by the time you are 1/2 way down the mounatin
You don't want your lady friends to be living closer to where you are trying to ski. Can't mix business with pleasure, or, pleasure with pleasure for that matter
ha true story. Everytime I visit I see drug deals, gang fights, over doses, prostitutes and dudes selling tomales in shopping carts and bike horns. shits real ghetto. Surprised more park skiers dont live here.
^where the hell in Ogden does she live? I've lived here my whole life and the only places that bad are West Ogden which is the equivilent of saying Magna is Salt Lake city. Basin is fun, alot of the people there think pretty highly of themselves which I find irritating, because its not Alta nor is it Deer Valley, however the John Paul Lift has some great skiing, as does Strawberry. It does get pretty icey as well. but on a good snow day Basin can be a really good time. Powder Mountain is worth checking out as well. Its more Mini Golf style i.e. not as steep, much less crowded as well.
