Alpine binding with an adjustable toe piece???

Are there any Alpine bindings that have an adjustable toe piece like the dukes to adjust for a taller toe piece.  I have been touring and resort skiing with my Black Diamond Primes and dukes.  I just got new skis and would like to ski them without buying another boot and still be able to leave the dukes on my other skis.

Any suggestions?

I am fairly sure all of the marker royal family alpine bindings have adjustable height toe pieces.(apart from the free 10 but i suspect if you're riding on duke's you're not going to be looking at that as a binding option)

The Driver toe of the Salomon STH series and Atomic FFG series is height adjustable, so your boot will fit in this style of binding.

BUT while it will technically fit, a shop will generally not mount the binding since the boot is not within the ISO 5355 norm. This means the shop is liable for mounting that setup and will most likely not risk the potential lawsuit if you were involved in a fall where the binding did not release properly.

They adjust, but not enough to fit most touring soles.

Both pairs of my boots(Tecnica Cochise, Agent BC120) have Vibram soles, and I ski them both in Solly 9xx series bindings with no issues.

The adjustable wings and toe height is what keeps me coming back to the older design.  Just make sure that you thoroughly clean your soles before you step in.

What sorts of soles do you have on those boots? Some of the Vibram soles have a DIN compatible plates in the contact points along with the rubber grippies. The BD Prime and Quadrant are both fully rubber rockered touring soles with no DIN plates.

I just bought some BD Quadrants, and given that the sole is designed to grip rocks, it will stick like hell to an alpine binding. I'm using mine with Dukes because they have that nice little slidey plate which should help them release close to DIN, so maybe a Jester would work too. Not sure.

Those boots are compatible with ISO 5355 (Alpine DIN) so they will work with any alpine binding.

The BD Prime is only compatible with ISO 9523 (Touring Norm). Thus, they are not compatible with ISO 5355 because they are not the same dimension (toe height) and lack an AFD on the toe and on the heel. So, for indemnification purposes with alpine bindings, they will not legally work.

Bodacious tech soles don't fit in 997s at full height, which is a major bummer. It looks close though, so I might try to grind the sole down a little bit to fit.

It's because the Tech Soles are for ISO 9523 (touring bindings), not ISO 5355 (alpine bindings). Even if the boots fit into the binding, they still aren't certified to safely work with that binding.

Yeah, I know. I just want them to fit in the binding and I'll take my chances, just like I do currently with the tech soles in STH16 & 916.
