Addicted To Company was created by AJ Jaggi and Curt Nichols in the spring of 2011 at the University of Richmond in Virginia. Like most college students, we often found ourselves sitting in our apartment playing music while hanging out with a group of friends. We were continually asked by our friends to burn these mixes onto CDs for them, and before long we decided we’d make a site exclusively for them to download music that they like, and from this idea we created Addicted To Company.
Many of the music blogs we looked at recycled the same house, dubstep, and hip hop tracks that have become so popular in the past few years, but we wanted to focus primarily on alternative genres of music. The title of our site and the way in which it was born exemplify the kind of blog we are striving for: a place where you can come to find new music to play in your apartment, on road trips, or while walking to class. ATC is first and foremost a music blog, but you’ll occasionally see us throw in a cool video, event or picture that has caught our eye. As we’ve progressed we have started getting hits from outside our friend group and from that point our networking efforts began. Facebook, Twitter, NetworkedBlogs, we’re doing it all.
