Roommate is intolerable

My roommate has been drunk almost every night. I moved in two weeks ago. That isn't even the worst of it. He has railed coke with his friends in my room and he has shot up heroin while I was in the restroom. The coke was definitely pushing it for my nerves but the heroin is were I lost it and told him that he needs to control himself and realize what in the fuck he is doing and that I will not accept it. He says he's been "trying to quit" but today he seemed way the fuck out of it. Just last weekend I was written up for coming into my room to pick up a few things and the RA ended up walking down the hall looking into my room and saw beers bottles on my roommates desk. I ended up getting my second write up even though I was not even drinking. Next time I could be looking at being kicked out of my housing.

I tried to switch out of my dorm last week but my RA told me I should just see if it works. She also told me finding me a place to go for housing is going to be a challenge since they have all the housing units basically full. I don't want to get my roommate in trouble but it may be for the best for him and me cause shit has gotten out of hand.

As I entered the room he picked something up form by his bed. Which was the needle. there was also a and he was acting super suspicious and looked out of it. So I questioned him about it and said that he is trying to quit.

I have a friend that has a sister that lives in the same town and she is helping me out with the situation. We are going to try and get my roommates parent's contacts and tell them what is going on. Today I have been moving most of my stuff into my friends dorm since he has space. So all I need to do is sleep at my dorm for now.

Seriously, OP lies like a fucking rug. Heroin? Really? A college freshman 4 weeks into the semester doesn't just grab a needle and start shooting up like its no big deal. I know it may be hard for you believe but for me its not. I have had friends who graduated last year go down bad paths once they got to college they got into the mess of hard drugs. Friends I graduated with this year have already have started fucking up. This kid I have known since middle school has been in and out of jail over the course of the year and is basically homeless because of his addiction.

My roommate definitely picked up this habit before he got to college. Whether it was over the course of the sumer or senior year I don't know. It didn't happen over a weeks time thats for sure.

i had a friend in hs who became a heroin addict during his SR year, and he went to college. he did fail out after one semester and is now clean but he did go to college out of HS.

Ok ok we're getting off topic here. My main point was that the OP joined NS last week, claims to be concerned about his druggie roommate yet his status on his profile is "Hungover and burnt out" ....sorry if I I'm a little skeptical of his "roommate" who does more drugs than Charlie Sheen

Just because I smoke bud and drink sometimes like a regular college student, doesn't mean I am not concerned about my roommate and my well being when he is violently drunk and high being a dumb ass in my room or the halls.

Sheen had like 500k of coke on him. Its not out of control to the point that all my roomy does is sit in his room and get pinned. He goes to most of his classes still but nights and afternoons are when he starts getting rowdy.

Have you ever been to the streets of Dillsburg, PA after the sun goes down its dark and kind of spooky.

And as others have said there have been kids from my school that do heroin and went to college.
And if it is a troll, who cares, its the lamest troll ever. Ohh you got us so good, we gave you advise that you cant even use because you are a big silly and making up stories.

a kid 2 floors below me would smoke in his room all the time and stink up the whole floor. the cops were called on him multiple times for blasting music at 3 am. he switched rooms one day and threw everything the other kid had onto the other bed, even taking shit out of closets and yelled at the kid all the time. he then started threatening to stab people and kill himself. then he disappeared. he was eventually found and sent to a mental institution, but not a week later and he's BACK FUCKING ON CAMPUS. i'm legitimately afraid when i see him. i think he does coke and just rages around

You can OD and not die if you are taken to the hospital and lucky, but usually you suffer severe physical problems after that. That is terrible and I'm sorry hear that. OD doesn't automatically mean death.

I went to high school In the NYC private school ring and I know kids at my school and other top high schools who did coke, heroin, were on painkillers etc... And a lot of those kids went on to go to ivy league schools. Harvard brown Yale Cornell penn etc.

No, no it doesn't. People survive overdoses all of the time. a shot of Narcan and you're conscious again.

Now, don't get me wrong, it is certainly possible to die from an overdose, but if the person is given medical attention, they most certainly can survive. i know a guy who has OD'd 3 times and he's still walking amongst the land of the living. No permanent damage to speak of.

Sorry to disappointed you.

I went to the campus counseling and they said they are going to look into this and said it is a serious issue for the safety of my roommate, I and people on my floor. It sounds like he will be out of my room in a day or so, may be even tonight. They will be making him do a drug test since my suite mates also confirmed his behavior.
