My roommate has been drunk almost every night. I moved in two weeks ago. That isn't even the worst of it. He has railed coke with his friends in my room and he has shot up heroin while I was in the restroom. The coke was definitely pushing it for my nerves but the heroin is were I lost it and told him that he needs to control himself and realize what in the fuck he is doing and that I will not accept it. He says he's been "trying to quit" but today he seemed way the fuck out of it. Just last weekend I was written up for coming into my room to pick up a few things and the RA ended up walking down the hall looking into my room and saw beers bottles on my roommates desk. I ended up getting my second write up even though I was not even drinking. Next time I could be looking at being kicked out of my housing.

I tried to switch out of my dorm last week but my RA told me I should just see if it works. She also told me finding me a place to go for housing is going to be a challenge since they have all the housing units basically full. I don't want to get my roommate in trouble but it may be for the best for him and me cause shit has gotten out of hand.

YES!!! IT'S A TERRIBLE FUCKING IDEA. At least confront your roommate about it first. Tell him that you aren't cool with him pushing off in the dorm, nor are you cool with the blow. Tell him that if it happens again then you'll be reporting it. DON'T GO STRAIGHT TO THE FUCKING AUTHORITIES WITHOUT AT LEAST BEING MAN ENOUGH TO TALK TO HIM ABOUT IT FIRST.

That being said, whoever said keep your shit under lock and key is 100% right. My girl's sister's ex-bf ended up stealing 50k worth of my girl's mom's jewelry to help feed his heroin habit. I've seen this happen a lot, unfortunately.

Also, I would still try and do everything within your power to get a new room. Bottom line, you don't want to be rooming with someone who can bring shit on you.

NO NEED TO BE A NARC....at least not yet.

I talked to my RA and she said she will act as if I am getting in trouble for marijuana and have a search of the room with with drug dogs any residue of scent of narcotics and he is donzo. Shit is going to happen tonight. Hopefully it works out and they replace him with a cute girl for my suffering of the last few weeks.

I have talked to him about it multiple times. Especially about the coke and he still has friends over and rails lines when he gets plastered. I just recently found out he had been doing heroin and had another talk with him and he said that he was trying to quit. Today he was super high nodded the fuck out in his bed. Its for the better, even for him cause he needs some help. This was the last thing I was expecting my roommate to be like and what I would have to be dealing with.

wow. not how i would have handled it, but it's your life. i wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even have a stash there anyway. heroin addicts aren't known for having large stashes of the drug, and usually are copping every day, so don't be surprised if they don't find anything.

your only hope is that the dogs can smell his rigs....aka needles.

it's too bad you couldn't talk to his parents first and let them get him help, because jail, while it will force him to detox, will hardly solve his problem.

Read your post and a few in; switch rooms man. Some people can deal with it and if you can't then switch. Go to who ever runs your school's student housing and tell them that your rooming situation will absolutely not work. Your roommate may be a good dude and for some people they could deal with it, it's a personality thing to some extent, but what your saying sounds like it won't work.

Not even brah. My roomy is on some stern shit. Drinking or smoking doesn't bother me. Heroin and coke do.

The RA came into the room and did a search and my roommate got really paranoid. They didn't find any evidence so they were not able to get a warrant. I asked if I could be moved again but the thing is all the housing is full or no spots for me to switch to. So I will have to wait for someone else to move out, which maybe until winter quarter. If it gets too hectic I will probably just move in with my friend and live on his couch. I will see if he can give me his parents info but I doubt he will.

My roommate doesn't think I ratted on him because I acted paranoid and somewhat defensive. Next time I am in the room with alcohol present they will expel me from housing its whack.

i just got out of a similar situation. the 3 other fob from china kids living on my floor. they smoke cigs, i didn't care until they started coming through my room to go outside to smoke. my room has a door that goes outside and theirs doesn't. whenever they come back in they would drag their fucking smell back in with them, i called them out a few times and they would stop, but when i leave, they use my door again. my room doesn't have a lock which is gay as fuck.

they would just sit at the computer and play games all day, sometimes even skip school just to play games. their parents are paying upwards of 30 grand (180k in chinese, which the majority of china wouldn't even dream of spending this much every year) to send them here to go to school and this is all they do.. shit baffles me. good thing they argued with the landlord yesterday and moved out just a few hours ago.

why do they need a warrant to search a room they own? but thats completely unacceptable. you divulged information that your roommate is doing hard drugs and they tell you that if you get caught in the room with alcohol you're expelled meanwhile not doing anything for you while you feel unsafe in your living situation. go above the bullshit ra.

If this kid is doing heroin and railin coke then you don't owe him shit. Who cares what his story is or how good his heart may be. The bottom line is he is a druggie who is fucking up your living situation. Who cares if he ends up in a dumpster or suckin D for drugs. Your not going to impact his decision to stop using, only he is. Maybe getting kicked out of housing will make him realize the path he has chosen.

Don't try to say hes a victim or some shit like that. Everyone make free choices everyday and at some point he decided to make a dumb-ass decision and it has lead to this. I've seen way to many people try way to hard to help addicts who at the end of the day are focused on how to get another fix, not how to quit.

I would probably tell someone. Maybe go to a counsellor? This isn't just alcohol or weed this is some intense shit. The last thing you want is to wake up to the sound of your roommate convulsing in his sleep and having to deal with the trauma of seeing a dead body on the floor of your room.

But in all honesty, tell him that you have a problem with how much he is using, and tell him that you think that he has a problem about his drug addiction, if you would classify it as that. Thats really all you can do, offer a helping hand. If he turns it down, then there really isn't much more you could do. If you are extremely concerned, I'm sure you could find a drug addiction hotline you could call, or maybe even adult protective service hotline. Tell them that your roommate is starting to use hard drugs frequently, and they should be able to help in some way if talking to him yourself doesn't do anything. Good luck man

this is a good idea. Talk to him, if he said he is trying to quit he'll appreciate the help. Trying to quit an addiction on your own sucks, and he will be happy that you want to help him. Work through the heroin thing first. Hang out with him more and help make sure he doesn't keep shooting up. he will not be happy for a while, because he will feel like he needs it, but after a while he will get better and feel better. Be there for him. I know some people say he is just some junkie, but you also have the opportunity to help him.

If you can get him to kick the heroin he will be forever thankful to you, you will have improved his life more than you will ever know. Then, if the coke thing really does upset you, if he is addicted, help him get through that too. Maybe buy a vaporizer and start vaping with him to keep him happy while hes getting through it all.

If he doesn't accept your help, then go live in your buddies room.
