Would it be accurate to says Obama is right of center and Romeny if far right of center? I know if Obama was running for office in Canada I would consider his policies to be further right than our own conservative prime minister....and Mitt wouldn't even be able to get on the ballot.

yeah, Obama is more right than fucking Reagan thats what people don't understand. I mean the Republicans (Eisenhower) used to tax the rich at 90 percent.

Over the past ten years there has been a huge shift in our country where the left has moved to the center-right and the right moved into a mental hospital. Obama has implemented a shitload of Republican ideas as president, but for some reason, because he does it, they don't like it and call it socialism and all this nonsense.

Obama is not even Keynsian, if he were he wouldn't be talking about reducing the deficit during a downturn and the stimulus would have been 3-5x as large.

The United States has increased it's use of renewable energy in the past four years.
Mitt Romney agrees with the 3% of scientists who believe that global warming is not real.
Mitt Romney plans to slow the production of renewable energy and instead increase drilling for oil in the gulf of Mexico.

It really is disturbing to me that so many republicans including Mitt think global warming is some kind of joke. Remember when they used to think it was real? and cap and trade was their idea? I can't think of anything more conservative than trying to conserve the planet. and there is nothing more radical and liberal than changing the chemical composition of the atmosphere.

You're joking right? Thats the evidence you use to back up the claim that climate change is a joke? Some stupid educational video where someone fucked up one classroom experiment that tries to demonstrate but not provide evidence for climate change? Bill Nye already addressed this shit, and thank god I was able to find this in the comments section of that ridiculous article.

O my friends, I have received numerous messages asking about the voice-over I did for the Climate Reality Project. My voice describes an experiment or demonstration that I’ve performed several times over the last 15 years. You can put pure carbon dioxide in a vessel, illuminate it with a bright hot lamp, and its temperature will be a few degrees warmer than an identical vessel filled with air. (I once did it with pure methane; the temperature rose in that vessel as well.)

The Climate Project people created their own version, but apparently they didn’t test it very well. One of our strident climate change deniers seized on their corner cutting and showed their demonstration didn’t demonstrate anything. I considered this part of healthy discourse: people cut corners; they got called on it and taken to task. Since it was my voice, I was considered to be a co-conspirator in the plot to fool the world into believing that our climate is changing. That’s reasonable in its way.

The Climate Project people used jars with lids that were too thick, the thermometers were not well placed, and the volume of gas in each vessel was greatly diminished by the presence of handsome, but voluminous globes and pedestals. When I’ve done this in the past, my apparatus did not have any of these shortcomings, so I got different results.

As the famous Boeing test pilot Tex Johnston remarked, “One test is worth a thousand expert opinions.” Try it; try your own version, and see if you measure a temperature difference.

One thing to note though, the guy who called us out on this drew an incorrect conclusion, or he made an erroneous claim. He says any change would have been caused by “… a completely different physical mechanism than actually occurs in our atmosphere…” That’s wrong. It is this mechanism. The model has to be set up properly. Keep in mind that our troposphere is several dozen kilometers thick, and it doesn’t comprise pure carbon dioxide. This is a model, a demonstration. Real atmospheric models are astonishingly complex.

Regardless of any shortcomings or shortcuts in the model shown by the Climate Reality Project advocacy group, the world is getting warmer, and we had all better do something about it.

The experiment was literally duplicated step by step, material for material. If you bother to read/watch the experiment you can see for yourself. Lap up the bullshit you want to be fed. You won't change my opinion.

this is an aside but i dont believe any baby boomer with half a memory can actually not be convinced climate change is happening.

heres why i say that. 2 summers ago I converted all of my moms slides from when she was born, 1947, up until 1984. back in the 40s/50s and early 60's there used to be at least one big snow storm every winter in portland, oregon. Gradually as i went through the years i noticed that fewer and fewer winters had crazy snow storms. now, in 2012 we have one storm like every 4 or 5 years.

somebody might say that maybe not all winters were evenly documented, but i converted over 15,000 slides. It was actually pretty neat to see it change over the years.

What do you mean lap up the bullshit you want to be fed? Why the hell would anyone want to lap up the fact that the earth is getting destroyed?

Ive never understood Americas hatred of scientists. These are the people that spend their whole life at school trying to understand the world in a way none of could ever comprehend. They have done years and years of meticulous research. Whether or not you want to be in denial about it or not its your call, but it certainly isn't a joke.

as long as theres sweet delicious oil, coal and natural gas we are gonna burn the hell out of it. we will use it all, until every last ounce is gone. doesnt matter who is running the show.

i agree it sorta sucks but fuck it, we all love affordable energy. the earth will be fine, there is literally nothing we could do to hurt it in the long run, unless we blew it up from the inside. we will all die, the earth will work shit out just like its done for billions of years. I think the planet is a lot tougher than most people give it credit for.

Hmm that was a little surprising, still definitely side more with Romney, i didnt know his stance on abortion, actually, i completely agree with his stance there. but the patriot act? i cannot respect any president who is for it.
and for sure like his stance on exploring space (how the hell could you not want to continue and expand our space exploration efforts? way to be a vagina Obama)

as for Obama, its pretty much what i expected, still hate him. i just dislike romney.
