This was what was most intriguing to me. He contradicted his own tax plan, healthcare plan, and social security plan last night. It was again, Mitt Romney saying whatever comes to mind, not what he stands for.

Other than possibly contributing to the overall trend, national polls are pretty much useless. I want to know how things changed in Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, Colorado, Virginia, and North Carolina as they will decide the election. As I stated previously, there's a 3-5 day polling return gap. So we'll know by Monday what has or has not changed in the electorate of these states.

If you consider only the substance of what they said and not the style in which they said it, it's easy to make the argument that Obama won. However, even if you judge it that way, Obama just didn't bring his game. He missed a huge opportunity to really call Romney on his bullshit and clearly present his plan for going forward. Obama lost this one bad IMO.

meh, there was quite a bit of BS coming from obama as well. maybe a little more from romney. i just dont think there is anything that obama did better than romney, seemed like however you look at it he was pretty much either equal or worse in every aspect.

LOL Romney just insulted Obama and blamed everything bad on 4 years Obama has been in office. Obama was very respectful and calm all night. I mean I understand a little accusation, but the point is to present/explain how/what you plan to do in office not just bag on the other candidates. In the end this results in Romney seeming on top.

Just my opinion though.

Both the major political parties represent the political ideology of liberalism. Liberalism says that individual rights like property rights and free trade are the road to prosperity and should be defended by the government. Government should also be small. Romney is a liberal. Obama is too basically.

Didn't read any of this thread, but all I have to say is this. Romney said "Mr president, you are entitled to your own house and your own airplane, but you are not entitled to your own facts." Or something like that anyway. He was totally waiting all night to say that.

Okay they are both pro-capitalists? Romney is still a Conservative and Obama is a Liberal. They are running for two separate parties.

leftist doesn't equal liberal. a liberal is someone who values individual rights, free markets, and small governments. "Leftists" are anti-capitalists; marxists, leninists, marxist-leninists, maoists, Third Worldists, anarchists, socialists, Trotskyites, libertarian socialists, etc. marxist-leninists and socialists are further apart ideologically than romney and obama are lol.

Depends what industry you're in he tends to pick the winners and loser, mostly the users. He's a guy who believes the government the answer to everything a hall mark of an anticaptialist. Furthermore bail outs are anticaptialist in nature

There's a difference between Keynesian economics and anticapitalism. The Obama economic policies that you are referring to are Keynesian in nature because they aim to cover the losses of capital not labor (i'm referring to capitalists and workers here). If it weren't for the governments coercive control of the public sphere and its taming effect on markets, capitalism would be overthrown. Thus, Obama is doing his best to preserve capitalism in this country.
