Frenck ski company CoreUPT, after being filled for bankruptcy in May, has been pronounced in compulsory liquidation.
It basically means the company will stop designing skis, also every riders (Rolland, Dorey, Houle etc.) are now free, watch out for new contracts being inked really soon.
Also, the company will probably be selling everything it owns in order to pay its taxes as well as suppliers.

Expect more info from CoreUPT's owners coming soon

that sucks, always sad to see a ski company go out of business. Coreupt backed a bunch of riders here in europe so I hope they find new sponsors soon.

I take my hat off to anyone trying to get a foot in the twin-tip market. But I do think its a saturated market at the moment. The big boys like K2 and Volkl are making some of their gear in China, which gives them a huge competitive edge over smaller companies who are forced to used local production.

Maybe it's better to take the Armada route and get a big company to press your skis. You sacrifice profit, but overheads are a lot lower. Would give a new company more time to establish itself.

who would have thought dropping millions on skiers to use your skis is a fucking terrible idea.

on3p started right around these guys. this is that classic scenario based on building from the ground up then your scaffolding can support more weight. if you build from the top you will certainly just fall over and go boom.

I like to stick with armada and atomic essentially the same company but yet not. They are made in Austria at the atomic factory and are both great skis! Gotta rep up Austria cause its part of me ;)

Any time you add middlemen to the manufacturing or sales process, people need to get paid. Hence why Saga who sells entirely direct (at least until this season, i guess they have some retail accounts now) can afford to sell their shit at a cheaper price and still make twice the margin of a company using sales reps.

Atomic makes their own skis in the Amer factory and builds skis for cheaper than Armada ever could.

This is sad to hear.

Guerlain was always one of my favorite skiers.  He skied a line at Mammoth called 'Frenchie's" that just blew everyone away.  If you can get footage of the contest, he makes McConkey, Kreitler, and Gordy Peiffer look timid.  I always wanted to see him in more movies, charging big stuff, I guess I should get some euro movies for that.

Actually, does anyone know if I can get European ski movies with Guerlain on itunes?  Or what movies to look for?  He is absolutely one of the sickest guys out there.

is this really a surprise? i remember the year coreupt came out they sighned EVERYBODY. Then they didnt even have their own skis the first season, was it dynastar? i cant remember. still sad news, im sure they put a ton of work in to it either way.

These were my dream skis, i actually ended up buying them a couple years ago and they are still going strong probably my favorite pair of park skis.

Sad to see this happen as there skis were some of the best :(

Hi, to give you a little more information ... legal 24/09 the court said Chambéry liquidation of Coreupt with continued activity until 08/10. So yes we will be liquidated if a buyer is not validated by the court before Monday. Pierre Gjurasevic

I chatted with Guerlain a little bit earlier this week and according to him, coreupt is not over yet. Of course the situation is bad, but it is not 100% over I can assure you.

Yes, apparently from what they're saying, CoreUPT is not likely to fully disappear... That being said, they'll obviously have to make important changes to save the company, even with a new investor. Update from CoreUPT on October 8th should let us know what they're up to !

Latest news : "the talks failed and the commercial tribunal in Chambéry confirmed yesterday that Coreupt would be liquidated."

The brand "CoreUPT" is still up to be taking over by some investors, but all its current activities are being liquidated.

Houle, Dorey and Rolland are now free to get sign new contracts for the upcoming winter.
