The hike to the summit is open conditions permitting. It gets hard by wind which scours it pretty bad. Hopefully we will have some good terrain open by then, but its kind of early for most of the gnarly stuff. You'd be lucky to be able to ski Big Chute, headwall and North Face dec. 20th. That being said there is tons of other fun terrain around. If you want to meet locals and maybe find someone to shred with, stop by Colorado FreeSkier at the base of the mountain. Employees get 2 hr ski breaks and most would be happy to show you around for a bit.
The park is usually going by then too, there are some sick shacks, and bud is super easy to find.
