Building a computer

so i am building a computer and im getting a combo deal from newegg, i have one picked out. i will be using this computer for video editing with premiere and after effects with my DSLR. Will this computer be good for that

if you go with AMD like i did, go with the best processor, nothing else worth it seriously in the AMD products......

anyway chek out benchmarks and you'll clearly see that you can have a better processor for the same price in INTEL

I'm not to sure if you know or not so i'll say it anyway. What you have in the combo deal is not nearly enough to build a complete computer. It would help is you grabbed a graphics card. Ive seen a big difference with editing with and without one.

And your still going to need like a hard drive and maybe a disk drive if you want one.

And get intel.

Good luck tho. Building my computer was THE most satisfying thing ive done and was incredibly fun.

THIS! I love my desktop, it was such an awesome feeling to finally boot it up and get everything running. And when something starts working not up to my liking I can tinker with it myself and fix it

yah i know it wont make a whole computer haha, ive already got a graphics card, hard drive, and optical drive.

Just out If interest what are the advantages of amd? There must be some or they would be out of business.

If you are interested in building a Hackintosh (DIY computer running OSX) this website along with Tonymacx86.com are essential. The build on NoFilmSchool is specific to video editors and is step by step from start to finish.

tonymacx86.com FTMFW. Used them two years ago building mine, and a few months ago when I updated. Currently posting from that same machine!

seriously, golden build's sections have step by step guides to everything. And their bootloaders/customization/support in the forums is all top notch. I've done multiple installs of OSX 10.6 and 10.8 using their stuff, and it's all fantastic!
