I am looking at getting some 173 2011 atomic punx for a pretty good deal. I am 6 feet tall and only around 140 pounds. I am by no means an expert, probably more a beginner/intermediate park skier and im not going to be hitting any huge jumps on them just rails, boxes, regular jumps ect. Are these two small? I know most people say go as long as you can, but would these be fine for some average park skiing and just cruising the mountain?
yea at 6ft 173 is deff too small even if you don't ski that aggressively you should deff be getting the 182 they'll feel better under your feet and add stability especially since its a center mount symmetrical ski you'll like having the same amount of tail as tip just to give you an idea i'm 5'8" 145 and i ski a 178 so you'll be a good fit on a 182
182. no doubt in my mind that you will like these better. Especially if your gonna get better. Maybe if you had never skied in your life I'd say 173 but that;s not the case.
Ya at first I couldnt find the 182's so I wasnt sure if the 173s would be okay. but i found some and bought them new with look px12 bindings for under $400. I just need them mounted and, I was wondering if the "Team Center" marking point is the same as true center? thanks so much for the help.
Thanks so much to everybody for the help so far... I really need to know from anybody who has the punx, and true center mounted them, is the TEAM CENTER mounting mark the same as true center???
I would assume that it is, but I'm not positive. They are symmetrical, there should ONLY be a center mount line. I know volkl puts other lines on the wall which is retarded, not sure on the punx. Whip out a tape measure and see. And you should get the 182, it will be much more stable for you.
OK thanks, I would measure them but I ordered them online and the guy is mounting them for me, I have heard that people say team center is not true center??
OK guys thanks for the help so far..... just to clear things up I have already purchased the 182 punx I need to know from some who owns them and mounted them true center, is the team center mark the same as true center? Can't measure them myself because the guy Im buying them from online is mounting them for me at his shop
