What is the difference between workers in North Korea and South Korea? Are the workers in North Korea better off than the ones in South Korea? If so, why are the northern workers better off than than the souther ones?
Ok it only modurnized America and set up the bases of manufacturing that would allow us to win two world wars. Additionally it was the driving force of our economy untill the libs took over and made it too expensive for factories to operate. Thus millions of jobs were sent to china
I didn't mention North Korea and didn't say ALL communism was good, so it's pointless and out of context to mention it. Also, if you're talking about communism, don't use North Korea as an example. Technically they're not communist so that comparison means nothing. Communism has been used as a tool by dictators and ruling parties to maintain power and control over the country but in places, China for example, where communism isn't used as a tool for power it is economically booming.
Yes it completely changed not only America, but the entire world. Do you know how this happened? Successful entrepreneurs exploited their workers in order to maximize profits. Because of the massive increase of people in cities and the demand for factory jobs increasing the employers had absolute control. If you don't think that this type of control is severely fucked up then look at events such as the triangle factory fire. Workers need to have a government to protect them from their employers, this is why the United States, and almost every modern capitalist society has adopted more central policies than the ones that were in place during the industrial revolution.
Communism has never actually been tried neither has a liberitarian anarchist type system. They both have the end idea of ending up with an utopian society with little to no government but go about reaching that in opposite ways. That being said most people on this thread treat communisms as a form of government, it is not, you can have a democratic government with a communist economy. A communist economy is the lack of capital in any form, every body has food, water, and other stuff but dosn't buy it themselves, and everybody has a purpose in the society, like teacher, doctor, or table maker. I don't like this idea because what about skiing, it technically has no benifit to society so i would not be able to ski thats the main reason i do not view myself as a communist.
Communism doesn't work and neither does capitalism. I think most economists can agree that a mixed economy is what really works (however people fight over how mixed it should be).
