Homemade poles

I was wondering if anyone has ever made there own poles. I was thinking of using a lax shaft but if anybody has ever done it and has better ideas that would be great. Karma for good ideas

Wanted to do this last year. Treked to sooo many craft stores. Noone had the right diameter opf bamboo, it was either HUGE or way too skiing.

my friend just got some old bamboo cross country poles and cut them down to a good size. they're rad as fuck!

Lax shafts would be wayyy too wide and most likely too short unless you used goalie shafts or cutdown d poles

Carbon golf shafts work like a dream if you can get your hands on some. I sawed the last 7" or so off of some old broken poles, about 4 inches or so above the basket. Then wrapped the end of the golf shafts with duct tape and jammed the shafts into the ski pole bottom as far as they would go, screwed straps into the hole at the top of the grip and touched up for aesthetics. Been using the same ones for about 4 seasons now without a single problem. i even took them apart and cut the shafts down and they still work great. The key is to make sure the former pole you are using is of relative size (circumference) to the golf shaft so that it fits as close to flush as possible with the end of the golf shaft. Works great, looks good (if done properly), light weight, very cheap (if you can get shafts for free or very cheap)

aluminum poles? if you know where to buy em they will be a hell of a lot cheaper than LAX poles.

just google like "raw aluminum pipes" or something.

what i do.. i take my old lax shafts and use the but and then tape the shit out of it for a grip and then i just put my tiny baskets on them

why the fuck would you do that? lacrosse shafts are hugely wide compared to ski poles and have absolutely no "give" or bend.

Coming from a college lacrosse player, I would not do that if it was the last pole option on the planet.

now this is more practical…obviously you'd have to use old driver or fairway shafts to save weight…but i could possibly see this working

I took some old poles. Cut them down. Painted them. And put bike grips on them. Work great
