I asked a particular girl to homecoming this year that I like.  She is aware of this and she said yes.  Im all excited and happy because, well, I like her.  Out of the blue, like 3 days after I have continually been seeing her at school with a guy that I know she used to be friends with.  So Im like ok, whatever, until this goes on 3 straight weeks and I found out they were hanging out last weekend, which she lied to me about, because I was going to stop by her house and say hi, but she said her parents werent home and I couldnt come.  She still claims that she wants me to take her to homecoming though.  What is going on here?  Can someone translate this please. Tldr: ask girl I like to homecoming, she says yes, is now talking and hanging out with another guy, still wants to go to homecoming with me.

Confront her about it. Nothing sucks more then getting ditched at homecoming. A similar thing happened my sophomore year. I asked this girl just to go as friends and she was all for it then she started talking to her ex boyfriend inbetween when I asked her and homecoming. So basically she spent the entire night with her ex and it sucked.

no, no, no. these clowns have it all wrong. go with her, have fun with her, just don't get sprung on her. you aren't married to the girl. there's no rule that says she can't hang out with other guys just like there's no rule that says you can't hang out with other girls. you aren't exclusive at this point, so you cant go acting like you are. don't fall for her...not yet at least...and you can't go wrong. play your cards right and you might get it wet....

What is "hanging out" Is she making out with the guy and that stuff? If that guy is at homecoming she might ditch you man, and that is the worst shit when your date ditches you, grinds on and makes out with other guys. Fuck those hoes. That happened to my friend.

Just talk to her about it and say you both want to have a fun night and would be disappointed if she were to ditch you.

Its been a while. I feel like thats the problem.. And to everybody else, I know that it doesnt make us exclusive cause I know we arent. It just makes me feel pretty bad that this guy that likes hanging out with is not me.

to be honest this is just like a situation i had. my friend said shed go to prom with me, and i wasnt exactly friend zoned although we were really good friends, altho i found out that she had sort of started an unofficial relationship with a guy like 3 days before prom and therefore acted kinda funny at the dance (i did not yet know about the extenuating circumstance). honestly, if you can find a different date i would, because i did not have fun with her at the dance and the awkwardness of it all made our friendship a little from then on out, even after she ended the little relationship. so yea, girls do some weird stuff

yeah this is the worst possible way it could go. and honestly probably how it will go unless OP takes a really positive attitude towards it.

so this chick has an interest right now. so....she probably wants to make this guy jealous to get closer to him. but you act like you dont give a shit about her until the night of homecoming which makes her want you really badly and then you slay her and she knows whose really got the goods. she'll be totally into you. thats strategy!

i didnt think about it like this but its ok for OP. thats a weird thing to do i agree but a date to a dance in highschool isnt exactly a date date. so its ok. Trust me man, I've been there and you can't just make someone want you the way you want them no matter how much you wish it were so.  They either do or they don't.  It totally sucks, but that's the way it is.  I hope you don't think I'm just being a dick, but I have seriously been there many times and felt taht same hurt- and dwelled on it for a long time to no avail.  The sooner you give up on the dried up well, the sooner you can strike oil somewhere else, nahmeen?? 

All you can really do as a man is take it in stride and move on.  Don't hold on to any anger or hate, because it's not her fault she doesn't see you the same way.  Just try to accept it, shrug it off and move on.  Best of luck brothaman, shit sucks but it could be worse!

Idk what your homecomings are like? At my school it is a major grind session and someone wouldn't go with someone if they are in the "friend zone". As for OP I wouldn't be too worried, you have the girl, not that other guy. She might really like you and be trying to make you jelous. Or she might just not be sure yet and testing both options with no intention of breaking off your your homecoming date. Just relax it play it cool bro and have fun with her at homcoming

Everything you say is 100% true, but I'm saying sometimes it isn't easy to just move on just like that. My advice: give it some time. Maybe hang out with some other friends that are girls. Play it out. If she agreed to go to homecoming with you then maybe she does like you. Or even ask her... Nothing could hurt by saying "hey, who's that guy you hang out with?".
