I normally dont call people morons but youre a moron. First of all, anyone comes in my house uninvited and they will be greeted with a 12g...no ifs and or buts about it, you come in my house and I will shoot to kill and 00 buck will make sure I achieve that

Why are they in my house? Its not their house, its mine. I dont know them and I do not know their intentions.

And yea, burglars just steal TVs. I guess that explains why home invasions never end with a dead family...because the bad guys just want your valuables, they never cause bodily harm. They never kill and rape the family....no way.

Within the last two weeks a guy broke into a house down the street from my sisters house in a wealthy suburb of portland. Guess what happened? The intruder killed the husband with a machete. The TV was unharmed, thank heavens.

I get why people freak out about open carry. I think they are dumb for freaking out but at least I can understand it. Now people who dont want a family to be able to defend their home...i dont even know. All I know is that a dude breaks into my house and im gonna kill him, a dude breaks into your house and youre at his mercy...you just hope he doesnt want to tie you up and make you watch while he rapes you sister, mother or daughter then sets the house on fire with you all inside.

But its cool, cause he just wants you TV

there is no way anyone can actually be this dumb. Why would the burglar need a gun if he just wants your TV...unless he intends on using the gun on the TV...which apparently would be the only course of action in your scenario because burglars never cause harm to homeowners.

00 buck is essentially like shooting 9 .380 rounds at the same time. unbelievably devastating. 00 buck is the shell of choice besides some pretty sick home defense shells which combine a small slug with buckshot..ive got some loads with watch batteries in em, they would fuck shit up real nice. Loading shells into a pump is much slower than using a magazine if the shells arent already in the magazine tube, but thats why they make semi auto 12 gauges.

Every home situation is different. If I didnt have neighbors the AK would be my go to weapon. 40 7.62 rounds and everything is dead but unfortunately the bullets will go through all of my walls and into my neighbors house. My brother has bird shot in his 12g for home defense. His daughters room is on the other side of the house and buckshot or his 9mm has to much penetration and would go through most of his walls

WOW you are so FUCKING retarded I can't believe I'm actually responding to this. So every single murder that happens in home invasions is because the homeowner pulls a gun on the robber right? are you fucking retarded? We had a guy in salt lake a couple months ago walk into a smiths (grocery store), buy a knife, then walk outside and start to stab random people. Random acts of violence are just that, they are random, they aren't instigated by someone pulling a gun on someone else

Yeah, but for every person being a hero in a situation, another 50 people die because there's no hero around.

And to the other guy: if someone is in your house stealing your tv: call the cops and let him have the tv. Burglars are out for your money, not your lives.
There's a reason so many get killed by firearms in the us each year. Not something to be proud of.

o so you own your own house? no you dont gtfo. (and no paying rent in an apartment is not owing your own house) i don't argue about guns because every time i do i have some dumb ass kid saying. "yeah if 3 people with knives broke into my house id take a shot gun and kill them all with one shot before they would kill me." that was an actual post in another gun thread. therefore im not going to argue with you, your mind seems to be made up.

I guess its too much that I took a 3 day course on night assualt, and home protection at the LA SWAT team killhouse, with a private security firm?

Oh wait, there's been 2 murders in my complex in the last month... my bad. Because Im sure if guns were illegal, that NOBODY would have one, since you know, I cant buy a X9 for $500, no serial numbers, since its just lifted right off the factory line... But if guns were illegal with citizens, im sure that the felons that are not legally supposed to have them would not be able to.

i own my own home (well, technically the bank owns more than I do at this point), have been in more fist fights than I can count growing up, and wouldn't hesitate to unload my 9mm and .357 in to an intruders chest if they were to try and enter my home. better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6. yay guns! :)

i am not saying that criminals will have NO weapons at all, but it will (as time progresses) become increasingly difficult to obtain one illegally.

remember all these horseshit videos where a fat, almost untrained cop shoots a guy without reason? its a great world where people with even less training have weapons.



i understand your argument, and it kind of is true for the first period of really tough gun laws. but after a few years, there will be so little weapons around, that it will increase safety a lot.


and all you guys with the burglar/"US is war zone" argument: i think the US should work on its hilariously high crime rates and create the socio-economic framework to make guns obsolete. THATS THE REAL CHALLENGE. your "solution" to the problem is more guns, which could work or not (the data is so biased in either direction, idk what to believe), but its like giving a guy with a brain tumor pain medication and leave the tumor untouched.

Youre partially talking about me. Im not a kid, im 24 and a homeowner, albeit a piece of shit. You can call my bluff on shooting a home invader...try it, i dare you. The 12g under the bed is there for a reason. Yes, ive never shot a person but if put in the situation of me or them i can say eith 100% confidence i will kill them. I shoot damn near every week just to be prepared for that situation. sweet assumptions noob

I also don't understand where all the illegal weapons are going to disappear to once this gun control would go into effect? Is it honestly expected that the 40ish percent of gun owning houses are going to just get rid of them? is it honestly expected that gangs will give up there guns? and honestly who thinks that gangs and just single criminals alone dont have the power to get there hands on a gun? i would much rather see a gang member walking down the street with an open carry rifle so i know who to keep my eye on, than a gang member walking down the street with an illegally possessed, concealed handgun that is nowhere to be seen.

not disagreeing with you necessarily, i dont know what would happen to guns getting to the hands of criminals if guns were 100% banned in the U.S. but im willing to be it wouldnt be much harder. there would, if anything, be a much higher demand for black market dealers and I really dont see why they would have a hard time getting them in the country. just look at what else is outlawed here and has hardly any effect on how many people use it..

either way, taking away guns would not solve the problem, its attempting to fix the outcome of a problem, which does not work. and our problem is, we have a lot of criminals and huge gang problem in the U.S. like i said earlier, comparing some small european country with the U.S. is a completely irrelevant argument, they dont have cities like LA Oakland East St. Louis, shit i heard Chicago has something like 90,000 gang members? thats obviously where the problem lies. you arent going to take away their guns, even if you were to somehow accomplish that the crime, gangs and murder would still be there.
why outlaw guns in my peaceful gun loving town that hasnt had a gun related death in forever, because Oakland has a gang problem? does that make any sense at all?

Where I'm from, almost no one have guns, some collectors yes, but they're plumbed, the cops don't even have guns.. some hardcore criminals have guns, but i don't mind, that's just a part of their image..

I wasn't one of the people who said, "yeah man I'm gonna fuck that fucker up right when he steps inside my home". I would take all possible measures to make sure that I would not have to shoot someone, that would be the most traumatic experience ever, and at the least would make a gruesome, expensive mess to clean up. Yes I have been in a fight, and have gotten my ass beat quite a few times. I am on the pistol marksmanship team at school and will probably be all american next year, so yes I can pretty much guarantee that I could shoot someone where I wished, but no by all means I would like to avoid that at all costs. At the very least I want to be able to go down with a fight if I am put in the path of a psycopath, if I was in aurora I would at least like the right to be able to ATTEMPT to protect myself (although an accurate shot would have been quite tough).

Although the talk of intrusions and defending yourself has been nice, it doesn't relate to the open carrying of long-arms which is what the law banned.

I don't really understand how they relate other than the slippery slope argument of gun control laws. The courts have continuously upheld the right of individuals to own guns and I seriously doubt that will ever change.

legally, you can't conceal a weapon if you don't have a concealed weapons permit. So, if you can't open carry, and don't have a cwp you are screwed when it comes to gun ownership in california.

The numerous exemptions to the law (if you're in the military, if you're going to a shooting range/gunsmith, if you live in a 'rural' area) make this law needlessly restrictive and slightly retarded....no surprise this was passed in california

because shooting a drum through an AK is really really fun. Because shooting an extended mag on a glock is really really fun.

and the fact that many guns are manufactured with 10+ round magazines. I trust that ruger knows how many bullets should be in my p95...not the state of california.

Neither of those items prevent gun OWNERSHIP. They prevent the ability of said person to carry such guns in public. You're more than welcome to be in your home, or on your property with your weapons.

cars account for 30,000-40,000 deaths per year in the US. you dont NEED a car to live, so lets ban cars. or if you want to be reasonable, lets ban speeds above 20, you dont NEED to get places quick, thats dangerous. skiings just for fun, but people die every year, why do we allow people to ski? when its potentially deadly?

now really, have you ever emptied a drum mag? emptying 20 rounds from my saiga 12 just might be the most fun ive ever had. is it dangerous? maybe, but i feel like im more of a threat to others when im skiing, its pretty much impossible to loose control of a gun, and im extremely careful when shooting. but still, i shouldnt be allowed to because... criminals that have absolutely nothing to do with me could use some black market gun to kill someone? dafuq? so because cars have been used to plow people over in a violent rage, we shouldnt be able to drive?

regardless of statistics (im still a firm believer that more relaxed gun laws do not increase gun crime, but lets forget all that for now) i honestly could care less about how many deaths are related to guns each year. humans are violent creatures, have been forever, guns didnt create violence, gun deaths are a result of criminals, guns do not create criminals. we have and always will have killers, gangs, and violence, do you think it was any safer and any more peaceful before guns came about? fuck no. shit give me a shot to the head over being scalped or stabbed with a spear any day.

its why every male citizen in switzerland can own a gun as part of their service and yet they still have an extremely low gun related crime rate, while the US is insanely high because we have a much much much more violent culture, we have gangs all over the place, we have mexican immigrant and gang violence. for whatever reason, parts of the US are very violent. the violence is there with or without guns, criminals are 100% the cause of the problem, without the criminals and violence, there would be no gun related deaths, without guns, there would still be violence and murder.

that is a really bad argument, i actually do need my car or i wouldn't have a job to get money to live (i live over 20 miles away from my job.) so yes the benefit of me having a car outweighs the risk.

people die skiing yeah like 500 tops each year(idk the actual number but its not very high.)and its from their own doing, people don't go around killing other people with ski poles, but they do kill others with guns. I'm sure guns kill more people then protect.

finally yes Switzerland you said man. i think that if you want a gun you can get one, but we need more rules to have them. as i said before i don't really know that much about guns. I've yet to hear an argument that has convinced me otherwise that someone needs a 10+ clip.

in a situation where a lunatic goes off with a gun like aurora or trolley square etc etc a six round mag probably wouldn't get the job done. In general is it plenty? yes, but in a gun fight 6-8 rounds really isn't very much. Also, it really isn't THAT easy to get a gun, they do check out your background and make sure you don't have any violent past so its not like ANYONE can get one.

you said you dont NEED to have fun to LIVE. you dont need your specific job to live, you could get one close to you. that way you wouldnt be endangering others lives when you're on the road. sure you may not mean to, but its very possible that you could loose concentration, crash and kill someone.
in the same way i have absolutely no intent on killing anyone, and my chances of hurting someone while shooting i can guarantee are lower than when driving. so really taking away my gun because of the wrong doing of others makes about as much sense as taking away your car because some people die in crashes. actually, statistically cars are more deadly than guns in the US.

really though, my point is, the problem is our criminals and gangs, not guns, they are and will be criminals with or without a gun. taking away a law abiding citizens right to own a gun is in no way going to stop criminals from being criminals. if you want to solve a problem, you fix the cause. not go to a hardly related non issue to find a solution.

and when i said i could care less about how many deaths are related to firearms each year, its because id rather have the right to own a firearm, the right to protect myself from criminals and the government, than have a little added "safety" (imo a false sense of safety) to me my freedom is more important than my safety, to an extent obviously, and anyway i honestly do not think taking away guns would do anything but make me feel more vulnerable.

its just as ridiculous as taking away peoples right to drive. we would have 40,000 people still living each year if we would just outlaw cars. but hey, im completely willing to risk my life every day driving down the street because the risk is worth the reward.

you could ban every single dangerous aspect of peoples lives and probably have a significantly safer society, but thats the opposite of freedom, and that goes completely against my values.

so yes, im completely willing to risk getting shot 11 times in the chest to live in a world where the government doesnt regulate how many rounds my gun can hold.

i still have not been given a legitimate response to why i should have my rights taken away simply because criminals exist.

1st off: everyone who has a gun there at home had around 6 months of initial military training and then 3 weeks per year like 6-8 times.


2nd: there is still a huge huge public outcry due to the occassional family murder and tons of suicides committed each year with these weapons.


so switzerland is not the beauty and nice country in this regard. and idk how you bring that up, because when i use austria or sweden as an example, you guys say that there are no ghettos (which is true), so you cant compare the US and these countries. well guess fucking what how many ghettos are in switzerland? you guys are so fucking bad at arguing and hypocritical, its not even funny.

It's a bad thing. Gun laws, no matter how many you put into place, will not help your crime rate or murder rate. When a criminal wants to get his job done - whatever that may be - he will get it done, laws or no laws.

These fucking foolish regulations only hurt the law-abiding gun owners.
