Tanner is what got me in skiing, and he is my favorite skier...BUT how in gods name do you expect me to watch 16 fucking minutes of tanner yelling congratulations at skiers in the rain?

True but he does have a point, I wouldn't want to show this to my parents or friends, therefore it's embarrassing. Don't get me wrong though, tanner got me into the sport and I've always been a fan of his over any other skier when watching comps and stuff.

Anyone who has ever spent a while in another country with a different accent will know that it can be easy to pick things up. If you don't consciously try and stop it (which I presume tanner doesn't) it can really start to settle in without you noticing. Sick vid!

I agree, I am from Montana and knew him when he was shredding here before the fame. I used to love everything he did for the sport, now the whole gangster / rasta mentality is just sickening. When he speaks he sounds like an uneducated fool, unfortunate because he is still insanely talented. Harlaut and Casabon are even worse.

English is Harlaut's second language buddy; I'm pretty sure the same goes for Phil.

As for Tanner's 'Jamaican' accent - are you guys serious? Aside from the "YEHMANN" he's sounding straight American (to a Kiwi anyway). Real Jamaican accents are often near incomprehensible.

What he said.. Tanner is a pretty nice guy in real life I've skied and partied with him several times and hes cool, but hes pretty guilty in how he acts , his image changes all the time. yelling at the bottom of a big air like that is pretty embarrassing like one of those annoying mothers or fathers as those Soccer games when we were all like 5 years old.. And the Jamaican wanna be accent.. hahah WTF..
As for the person who said you pick up accents if you live overseas haha I speak fluent french and Japanese and have spent a 1/3 of my life living abroad and I still have an Aussie accent.

Tanner has probably been to Jamaica maximum 10 x for no more than a couple of months, so that accent is totally put on... Anyways Tanner is Tanner.. he will always be the way he is, Guilty and embarrassing, from the Thugged out 1242 Video part throwing up gang signs with Shook Ones playing in the background , posing back in the day with Mikeal, or starting a record label and pretending to be Rasta. He should do what snoop did and change his name to Tanner Lion.. like seriously who the fuck names their crew Chronic Crew... and then gets a tattoo of it.. on his arm... That to me is the definition of poser..

If Tanner wasnt as good at skiing as he is this image would't work for him, but the thing he is ..

haha but still, Tanner is an amazing skier, but the way he acts is pretty gay, but so are most skiers and snowboarders, from the Tech 9 Snowboard crew snowboarding with guns, too Phil And Henrick acting thug... hahaha and they say oh we do it cause it's " Funny" Fuck off you do... people in general find it hard to admit to reality.. People from other sports and walks of life laugh at skiers and snowboarders for how lame they act. from Jp Walker, to MFM, to the Tech 9 Guys, to guys like Tanner and Ahmet Dadali..

I respect guys like David Benedick, The Traveling circus guys, Garrett Russel, Travis Rice even, Cody Townsend, Shane Mckonkey they just are who they are.. there not trying to be " Cool" but you know at the end of the day these personalities and there " ACT" sell skis, outerwear and acc...
So let the monkeys dance for the camera.. bitching about it on here will never change anything..
People like to " Play" a part.. as lame as it is ... its a part of life..

Anyways that's my opinion.. Full of shit or not... the whole point of a forum is to express ones opinion.
And if some one complains about my Grammar please go jump of a high- way bridge into oncoming traffic.. this isn't an essay.. its a forum post on a ski site..

I thought that was a fun way to watch the event, with all the best shots. I'll use any excuse to see Gus cork five screamin grabs, let alone E Dollo nose butter the entire competition or Cassabon do what it takes to land podium again. Take Tanner for what you know him as and don't be surprised when you him speak. You get to hear Sammy, Jacob, B&E all put in a few words too. Cut it to 6-7 min and the public might even be able to handle it.
