i think that if the USA loses to germany, im gonna root for senegal, cuase they are badass. i saw the highlight of one guy scoring and doing like 37 back handsprings into a sick tucked up switch backflip. with tricks like that they deserve to win if the USA doesnt.

until i see someone beat that with a celebration flair, flat spin, or misty flip, senegal gets my vote

How sweet would it be if the world cup went to Africa for the first time EVER. Especially after South Africa losing it's bid in that dramatic fashion.

yeah senegal's got that underdog thing going on, im normally a huge underdog rooter so they have a spot in my heart.. that doesnt mean im not rooting for england however. any dude who married posh spice is the man.

All u guys are just jumpin on the England bandwagon cuz they are good. you'll be mad when they lose, they aren't even playing good. They tied Nigeria...what does that say? USA is gonna stomp on Germany just like they stomped on Mexico. Either Brazil, senegal, or USA is gonna win the World Cup.

First of all Nigeria is a really good team. Also, England and Nigeria didn't play. England needed a tie, so they played for a tie, and Nigeria just didn't seem to care that game because they were already eliminated. England made it out of the group of death, then beat a very good and inspired Danes team. England have not had an easy draw all world cup, even the qualifing.
Brazil on the other hand, have not had one difficult draw, they barely qualified for the world cup, and don't even know the meaning of defence. England all the way.

i think that if the americans can bring their A game they can beat germany. senegal is the shit. the have pretty much everything and they are the underdogs. but the brazil england match will be the match of this world cup in my opinion.

ya you can join. senegal rules. their players just look cooler than any of the other players, and looking cool, having good celebrations, and being badass is way more important than goals in my opinion. even if they lose, they are still winners in my mind.

T-Lo, I agree, but England played for a TIE not for a loss. All they needed to advance was a TIE, which is exactly what they got. I wasn't too pleased with that game, especially since I stayed up till 4:30 in the AM just to watch it, but we advanced through a though group which is more than teams like Fance, Portugal, Poland, Uraguay, etc. can say. Tell me one easy draw the English have had up until now.... oh wait... you can't, because they've kicked ass against some of the stongest teams in the tournament (ie Argentina).

I'm not jumping on the England band waggon. I have 2 England jerseys, both out of date, and 3 Liverpool jerserys (obviously if I support the English premiership, I support the English team), and all of those are out of date too. England have an good young team this year, and as long as Veteran Rio Ferdinand doesn't fuck up the back four like he often does, I think the English should easly beat the cheap, diving Brazilian side. They're only using 3 defenceman.
My prediction... 2-1 England!

Rebel, sorry for accusing you of jumpin on the bandwagon. You know what you are talkin about, and if you have some out-dated jerseys you must be a fan. But the rest just say 'go england' and they probably cant name 2 other teams in the tournament, or even 2 players on englands team. I'm rootin for Brazil in that game, but it's gonna be a great game. I'll definitly be watching that game friday morning. All I know is USA can't be stopped! haha i wish, but theres a chance.

hey ive been rootin for england since like january or somethin, they were my team in FIFA for the pc.. owens, beckham (the man!), heskey, schols (sp?)..

and yes i do know remaining teams, usa, germany, brazil, england, senegal, s. korea... im not totally up to date, and i certainly admit im not the biggest soccer fan at all, but im no fairweather fan.

No worries T-Lo. There are a lot of people in North America that jump on the bandwaggon when it comes to soccer. Most of them claim to be Man U fans.
The jersey thing is pretty annoying. I get a new jersey, and then there's a new one the next year. I keep asking my family in england to send me jerseys (they're cheaper there), but then they're like why do you need more jerseys.

yeah, I would say about 90% of soccer fans here in edmonton are man u fans. I am one of them, but have been one my whole life. My aunt brought me back several old jerseys, One of them is blue!!! It is at least 10-15 years old. if only it still fit me.... It looks nice on my wall anyways. The people that are jumping on the bandwagon are those cheering for senegal right now.

sorry rebel but Rio Ferdinand is not a veteran, he has been capped 25 times (including the games he has played in this world cup) and i think most if not all of those caps came in the last 2 years. hardly veteran material. and i can't believe you guys are paying out on Brazil because they don't give a shit about defence, that just means they play exciting football. Cafu and Roberto Carlos would have to be my two favourite defenders, because the play with flair. unlike the boring, prosaic English. watching Brazil play is like watching poetry while watching England play is like reading the weather report at the back of newspaper. Boring as Hell!!!

Yeah, good call. I read that when I was sober, and I was hoping that nobody would catch it. I don't know how old he is, but he can't be in his 30's. But whatever, I think he plays for Leeds U. (rivals with 'pool), so he doesn't matter anyway :)
