I filmed my freind aaron jones after school for a few hours and this is what i got.

first time really focusing on making a edit and exporting it correctly and all that jazz.

filmed on a canon t2i with a canon L 17-40 WA

i think i under exposed it a little too much but let me know.

also i used magic bullet mojo for the color correction in final cut pro.

speeding up and slowing down the video didn't look very good and the song didn't really fit. its a good start but work on more of a flow in the edit not just repetitive slow mo and fast motion shots of action.

thanks man +k , it was my first time editng in final cut pro so im getting used to it, im not that good a editing, but film wise and quality wise did it look good? it took me 3 tries to export it correctly

You shoul really check your slowmo, (I belive you shot at 60fps) make sure to have your shutter speed set to minimum 125 but dont go any higher than 500 ish...
And for slowmo in post (editing) with 60p the lowest you can go is 40%, But really important turn of the option frame blending when you get up this timeremapping thing..
Otherwise as someone said earlier, music didn't fit that well but i think you and the guy that jumps around has potential to make some sick edits!:)

Well, you pretty much copied Evan Heath's opening title, except with a different font and you added a film burn.

The exposure and colors were decent.

Maybe get a tripod and read some stuff about shot composition. Some of the shots it seemed like you were pretty much arbitrarily pointing the camera at your friend. That, combined with the handheld shakiness, gives it a very home-videoish feel. If you want your work to appear cinematic (which is what it seems like you are aiming for), you need stable footage with smooth camera movement, and well-composed shots.

Also, try to avoid using a lot of gimmicky, cliche things. Such as timelapse, film burns, tons of ramped slow mo, and especially that 720 degree swish pan you used. They can be fine in moderation, but make sure you are using them to convey something specific to your audience (ie ramped slow motion on a really tech trick to emphasize the difficulty of it), not just because you saw someone else do it and it looked cool. When you (and everyone else) use them too much, they lose their dramatic effect, and become cliche (ie twixtor).

i also couldnt find cinema tools to conform 60p to 24p so i kept it at 60p and did the slowmo in imovie which is why its not that great, but when i exported it it changed to 30p.

so what im getting is dont copy ethealths into even thiugh i did becuase i really liked it, first time pputting that in a video,i can change it if he has a problem.

also use tripods for stable shots

expose it a little more

get a little bit more better artsy shots

Export it at a higher bitrate, noticeable compression artifacts. Work on stabilization, also, sort out your slow motion, either you're slowing it down too much, or your frame rate was too low, and also it was pretty blurry so your shutter speed may have been too slow, it might just have been because you had a low frame rate, I can't tell. 1 handed backflip at 1:12 was impressive. The speeding up didn't look good in a lot of them, you seem to get a lot of flare too, might wanna try and stop that.

first off, if you have final cut pro.....never ever ever ever use imovie. its literally a piece of shit when you have final cut pro.

you can edit in a 60p timeline in final cut pro, slow footage down to 40% (command+j on the keyboard and uncheck frame blending) then export at 24fps and it will look fine. the speed ramping got very old fast tho. here and there its ok but it got a bit redundant.

second, keep your frame rate around 120-250 ish otherwise normal footage will look a bit choppy. slowed down it wont look bad tho with higher shutter speed.

really not much i can say for the video that hasnt already been covered. the more you shoot and play around with final cut pro the better you will get with not only filming, but handling your footage to retain the most quality

Not very appealing. Stop/fast motion pairing was bothersome. Song definitely did not match your video of someone playing on a playground..

Well that song is really epic and parkour in a playground isn't so pick one that coincides a bit better.

Also, I know you addressed that you reused the song but you really shouldn't use a song that's been in such a widely seen video. It gives people an immediate predisposition to compare your video to the original and in this case, that's gonna hurt how people see your edit.
