DSLR Monitors

Im looking to buy a Monitor for my t2i and there are so many options, Does anyone have any suggestions? I would prefer it be under 500$ and also Is it worth it to get an HD screen? Ive always considered a screen a screen so I dont really know if its worth buying some crazy fancy one I would just like to be able to monitor video as well as playback videos. But at the same time I want to see what im getting correctly so I want the colors to be correctly.

Are you looking for one thats also an evf? the dp4 and dp6 seem like really quality screens with loope.

i can't seem to think you really need an external monitor for a t2i, especially for anything skiing related...

I am looking into it for a couple local commercials/shorts and my personal non skiing reels that I am working on, Along with it would be useful for interview stuff, and Why would I not need it on a T2i the screen is smaller on that then any other cameras.

I'm just starting to consider it and have not done alot of looking because i am hesitant on if I would use one but i have had problems On a couple from car shoots as well as anything where I am cant use a viewfinder (ie slider shots, tripod pans, etc).

And eheath, I have not looked much on EVFs but I definately like the idea the dp4 looks pretty solid and I like the basic controls and headphone jack so That is a good option. My main concern on it thou is size because I want to be able to just look at the monitor and know what is in my shot and if it looks good exposure wise and color wise but at the same time I dont want to carry around a huge thing so do I go with the dp4 or 6? anybody have experiance with what size is good?

It may be overkill for me and if its not something I need, I dont want to get it but I feel that it would benefit me just because The screen on the T2i is so small and It would make monitoring motion much easier.

it's overkill unless you have really bad eye sight or something. I've worked with a lot of people that use monitors and it doesn't make their shots any better than mine. Use the zoom focus and there really shouldn't be a problem with using the viewfinder

That's dumb dude...

unless you are trying to film from really low/skate style, you are fine using the built in.

If you are looking for a small one so you can see when you are filming low, there is a guide somewhere online that helps you build one for under 40$. It's made of a car GPS thing, and needs a separate battery and a ball bearing hinge if you want it to be adjustable.

I almost tried making it, but then I realized I don't film skiing enough for it to be worth the effort.

Sounds like I just have to pick up a nice viewfinder, Any suggestions on this? I have held off getting one and figured a montitor might be better because a decent viewfinder is pretty outragous in price but the monitor sounds like mayb a pain so Ill have to try a viewfinder.
