Im hoping to move out there and go to school next year.

Just looking for some info, input and opinions.

Some questions,

Where to the majority of people ski?

What are you majoring in?

Party school?

feel free to ramble about the college, any input is good!

I dont go but I know one of my friends does
It is a HUGE party school but he is a little socially inept so doesn't get out much.
Skiing isn't going to be that great unless you want to camp in the parking lot of one of the ski resorts every weekend because of traffic on the highway/freeway getting to the resorts and relative distance.
My friend is majoring in BioChem and doesn't really get that much time off to ski either.

If you're really looking for some great skiing that is very close I would suggest coming to the University of Utah. It's basically 30 minutes to any of 6 resorts. Tuition is a lot cheaper. Party scene isn't that big, this last weekend was basically a bust for partying which kind of sucked but was actually kind of a nice break for once. I'm majoring in Chemical Engineering and still have enough time on the weekends and at least once a week to go skiing.

Most people ski at Breck or Keystone, I usually go to breck, but its equally as easy to get to copper, winter park, a basin, loveland and some others, Breck is the best. Voted #1 Party School by Playboy Magazine last year... I started in Architectural Engineering and switched to Economics with a business minor, we have a pretty decent department in any major you could think of.

I went to CU. Skied a shitload and Graduated with an Architecture Degree. not suppose to be possible, but anything is possible if you set your priorities. also one of the Highest Paid Party schools. check this...

I believe this is the result of the network you can create there. Almost all my friends Parents owned there own business. I feel like I could get a job in almost every major city in the US due to this. I live in Seattle now.

5 mountain pass iss what most people do

the school is a complete party school. but summer is where its at with the cruiser rides

i shred mary jane and witner park. parking is free at the base of the mountain, lift lines are small, wp has the park, mj has the goodies

was considering going to here too:

i carry a 3.5 at mid to high and like 2.9 as the lowest ive got for GPA.
im a junior so havnet taken SAT yet but i really need to know if im going to get in with those grades, im in AP and Honors courses. Also i have alot of extra curricliar ( spell check ) activites i do aslong with like charity work?

Will i get in.

Also thinking of the University of Utah but i have a feeling i dont have the grades?

i got in from out of state with a 3.1 gpa, 1760 SAT, and a bangin essay.
pulled all a's senior year which i think gave me the extra bit that got me in.

Summit County usually.

It's only a party school if you make it one. So much more stuff to do on weekends than party. But, if you want to party, hot damn.

2nd year business major, absolutely love it. I've got friends in pretty much every major and they all love it.

Get an eldora pass and an epic pass. Eldora on days when you have low class load/ half days, summit county every other day. I got 50 days in last season doing this, with no skiing in Feb because of an injury.

Also, every hot girl in the country seems to flock to boulder. It's mecca.

im a freshie now. Lived in breck last year. I'm currently en environmental studies major hoping to switch to business next year. If you figure it out (set up a good schedule, maybe an online class), you take take a full corse load and ski a good amount. Plus there is maymester in which you can take one class in a few weeks in may. Everybody here is pretty cool, with the exception of bros and pretentious bitches, but that's at every college. Skiing is sick all around, you can cruize to abay in an hour and a half or vail in 2 to ski pow, keystone is like 1:30 and breck is 1:45 if you're looking to shred park. And Boulder as a town is real fun, so many music shows, events, parties every night. It's exhausting but so fun. If you go here, just make sure you get a summer job and save up some dough cause you're going to need it to go to cool places, do fun stuff & eat at cosmos.

awesome place. if u want, u can easily ski all winter and graduate in 4 years by taking summer schooll.. if ur a park kid, u get to shred breck and keystone park all week and then bust down to boulder to kick it with the hunnies for the weekend. then when it's Sunday, they go to the library. u retreat to ur winter lair to get ready to shred empty Freeway at 10am the next morning.

as of late the party scene at the U has gotten exponentially better. probably because of the desert parties. The girls have also become significantly hotter and way more fun to hang out with in the last year alone.

the only thing Utah really needs to catch up with boulder is a legit music scene and getting the mor(m)ons to fix the ridiculous alcohol laws.

Boulder is sick as fuck because you have the fox, boulder theater, multiple epic venues in denver and of course Red Rocks up in morrison. The smorgeshbord of music available in colorado kicks ass. You can see a dank bluegrass show one night, get your face stolen by jamband another, and then rave your ass off the next night if your wallet and brain can take it (in no particular order).

but i digress. In SLC you live 30 min away from the shred and still go to school full time. it's a real toss up. I have a twin brother he went to boulder and I went to the U. both are fun places to be and youd have to spend a week at each without your parents to make a solid decision.

I hope to go so bad, i feel like there's no other place like it. Tuition is rather steep though... Still trying to figure out how I'm gonna be able to go. Second choice would be university if Utah

The block program allows you to move your winter courses to the summer and take the winter of. Great place to go for a skier.

I'm curious about Boulder too. I live in Pittsburgh, and I'm looking into moving out to Colorado for college. I flew out and toured boulder/Denver/Colorado springs for like two weeks and fell in LOVE. I've been skiing since before preschool, and ive been getting into freestyle skiing figured why not go to a fun college, graduate with a good degree/college name, ski in beautiful mountains and find good tree? I'm just wondering if Cu boulder measures up to all of the hype? How are the classes and class sizes, professors, skiing, and all around aura of thr place.
