Konova K2 vs K3?

I have been making a lot of threads lately. I promise, this is the last one for a while.


What is the difference between the Konova K2 and K3? The website doesn't give jack shit information wise. I will be putting a GH3 or T3i on it.

Anyone?

It ended up being just that the K3 has 4 ball bearings and the K2 has 3. $110 dollar difference for just a bearing.

Just ordered the K2 in 80cm! So stoked!

Good to know. I think a slider is going to be my next camera-related purchase. The Konovas seem to be the best ones in the price range.

For sure. I guess the K2 came out pretty recently. I will post up here how it performs.


On a side note, anyone have a 701/501/504 head they want to sell me?

you can always just take it off your tripod (assuming you have one already) everytime you want to use the slider, it's what I do as of now

Yeah i know but i need one for quick changes and i really want the ability to do vertical slides.

I havent heard any bad things about them so far...


I was gonna go for the 100cm, but then I realized I might need a second tripod due to the flex in the slider.

there may not be flex, but if you have a single center point, the weight of your head/body at the extremes (ends) will cause it to tilt/be unbalanced

Just got it in today. Quick shipping by konova. Went out tuesday, and It got here today (thursday).

Honestly, I couldn't of expected anything better. Its fucking amazing. I dont think you are going to notice anything different when comparing the K2 to the K3. The only difference is 1 less bearing, and the wrench kit they include (just use your own). When there is no camera on the slider, it almost feels like a friction based slider, but once you put your camera on it, its smooth as butter.

I got the 80cm. I think thats the perfect length. Any shorter and then your compromising slide length, and any longer, I think it might be a little cumbersome. You could defiantly get away with 100mm, but I think the 80cm is plenty.

paid $229 shipped for it. Its a great deal if you ask me. Buy it before Konova jacks up the prices like they did for the K3.

How's the weight? Does it seem like it could be easily attached to your backpack and carried around the hill if you were looking to do on mountain shooting?
