Opus in 185 or 192

I'm 6' around 165 lbs. I'm currently on the east coast skiing sugarloaf every week, but plan to change that when I graduate college this year. I'm looking for something that's smooth and buttery and can get around in the trees and is fun off of jumps.

I'm gonna mount these with Dukes and plan to tour a lot. I'm leaning towards 192 because it will be better for charging, but I feel like 185 is better in trees and for touring. Any help would be great.

I am the same height and weight, looking to do the same thing, and I am getting the 192 Opus. In reality, you are only adding around 5 cm of length to the tip of the ski and 2 cm to the tail if they are mounted at their suggested point (I am a firm believer that you do not fuck with Eric Pollards suggested mounting points). I live in Vancouver BC, and ride at Mt Baker, Mt Seymour, and Whistler for the majority of my season. Most of the terrain here is tight trees. I've ridden the 183 Bentchetler's mounted at - 2 from center for 2 seasons and have found them too short.

For reference, I am 6'1", 155 lbs and I'll be rocking the 192 opus, mounted on the line. Other Tall skis I've ridden (and thoroughly loved) include 191 (~194) On3p Cease and Desist, 191 (~194) On3p Caylor, 186 (~190) On3p Billy goat.

The thing about rocker is (wait for it): it shortens up the ski considerably. A general rule of thumb that I've found useful is that for any non-rockered ski you would usually consider buying (do they still make these?), go one size up.

I am 6'2" and 155 and last year I picked up the 185s. I love the ski at that length. Easier to maneuver in tight trees and I don't charge super hard with them so I feel like the length is good for me. It's all about personal preference though

I just picked up the 192 myself. I'm 5'10" and about 175. I was on the fence a while between the 185 and 192 but decided on the 192 for maybe just a little bit more stability. I'd go 192 at your size but I will definitely have more input once the snow flies.

im 165 lbs and i have the 185 and ski 150 days a year. the only time the 185 felt too small is in neck deep powder or going really fast on a huge choppy bowl. you will run into neither of those problems on the east coast so you will be fine with either size.

though i am maybe in the market for some 192

I would also say to go with the 192s. Line measures their skis differently than other companies, K2 for example. They measure their skis from tip to tail, whereas K2 measures a little differently. For examply my 189 Obsetheds are actually 193.5 cms if you measure them the way Line does. As such 192 Lines are not actually quite as long as they sound, they are probably closer to 188 cms in reality.

since the 2011 season K2 only measures their pow skis true to length but all the park skis still run a bit "long".
