One of my first projects in CS6, so far I like it but I miss color 1.5 like crazy. Anyways, check it out and let me know what you think. Slapped it together a few days ago and am pretty stoked on it
many shots were blue, and over-saturated (to my eyes at least). I'll give you the not having color/being new to adobe ticket and say no worries. (I know landis has said he likes a slight blue, but there was a very strong presence of warm and strong contrasting colors that it just looked meh.
sound was annoying when you had a lot of wind noise when there wasn't a reason to have any audio in. Fade in the landings/takeoffs/rail sounds, but when hes riding between jumps, cut it out completely or tone it down so you barely notice it.
Joey killed it though, 2 pretz 4's both ways on a donkey, dope!
Yeah all I did was slap the clips together and CC on cs6 blows. The three way corrector doesn't do shit so I did it all by eye. I decided to turn sound up to you can hear the speed ramps since I'm now a speed ramp/skate style fan boy haha. But hey, just some excuses.
Yeah I agree with the whole oversaturated thing, wasn't sure if it was just an overused cp filter. for the whole wind thing you could have just keyframed the audio -96 when it was windy and just turned it back up for the rails/landings, also seemed like you were way to far away to use audio at some points. Just my suggestions, I'm likely to be wrong.
I agree with the past comments and also the blacks seemed pretty crushed but overall it was pretty sick! Just out of curiosity why dont you like speed grade? I have the CS6 suite and have tried color but I pesonally like the UI and controls in Speedgrade
^never took the time to learn SG, might have to give it a go on the next vid I do. Does it have an auto balance tool? That was my favorite feature in color 1.5 due to the face that I'm a lazy bastard
It doesn't "blow" you're just used to something else. It has perfectly fine 3-way color correcter just like FCP, which is what I mainly used. If you're dying, get colorista, has more color-ish stuff. Are you just missing the curves or what?
Just repeating what everyone else has been saying...Over Saturated. Speedgrade works well for color correction, and like eHeath said the three way color corrector in CS6 is just fine, takes some getting used to though.
