anyone else get iOS 6 today? kinda stoked that siri does better stuff and that the maps thing is somewhat useful as a gps...anyone got an opinion on it?

this is the only thing in the update that sucks ass. every time you lock your phone for a period of time it drops the wifi and you have to go in the settings and keep clicking it untill it turns back on. so stupid. hopefully a bug fix will come out in a few weeks

Probably a problem on facebooks end. They are notorious for blowing it with their iOS app.

I just upgraded. No wifi problems for me. Really the only "problem" so far was that the addition of a few new icons has shuffled all mine around, so I have to get them back in the order i wanted.

fuck this shit... i have osx 10.5.8 and i need like 10.6 to download itunes 10.7... now i have to pay 30 fuckin dollars to upgrade to 10.6 or higher.... FUCK APPLE

Anyone know how to view history with the new YouTube app? IMO the new App Store, iTunes, this new YouTube app suck. They force you to look at one thing at a time and pull way less shit up during searches. I find it a backwards progression. Hoping I can restore back the the last version unless someone can help me out with a few of these things.

I regret it. The new App Store, iTunes, and YouTube all have a terrible flow to browse for new apps and music, and I'm extremely disappointed. Basically when you browse the app store with the search feature, you have to look at one app at a time, its not a large vertical list of apps.

When I search ski in the App Store, this is what it looks like.....

Like seriously, if I wan't to search right to the end of the 1,365 total results for my search, I have to make 1,365 swipes, AND I have to look at a bunch of stuff on the way.... That is, if you can load the next 25 apps previews. I've crashed every time I try to load the next bunch of apps. The old app store was just a big long list minus the 'in-app screenshot' which I don't really give a fuck about. If the app's icon caught my eye, or the price was right, I could click on it and get the same damn thing that they now force me to look at....

Similar things can be said for YouTube and iTunes. The only thing this update has going for it was the "do not disturb feature" which you can set to ignore all contacts other than your favorites during certain hours. I could seriously live without that though.....

its really not that bad. yea the flyover is poopy but the actual navigation works really well. ive used it many times and have had no problem. also ive noticed it doesnt hurt my battery as bad as the ios5 maps did

im saying if i type in a fucking city name it just says there is no such thing.. like ya there is im 10 miles away from it and you cant fucking find it???

I remember with google maps i could fuckin butcher the spelling of something and it would still find what im talking about. this map blows and the fucking service is super shotty. The other most annoying shit is that the wifi doesnt automatically connect to shit its been connected to before. when i come home i always have to go into the settings and connecting my phone with my wifi soooo fucking annoying.

google maps also had about 7 years on apple maps. while yes, apple maps is shitty NOW, it is going to get better, theyre building it from the ground up. granted they probably should have done this way back instead of signing a contract with google, however, it is about time they parted ways. with that partnership, google has a monopoly on maps, and from what i have read, has been limiting the capabilities of the apple version of google maps.

Interesting, I like that the app runs in the background with information at the top of my screen while I do other stuff like play with the iPod. I went on a 6 hour trip using Apple Maps to some place I've never been and it worked seamlessly, not sure if I like it better than Google Maps. Both seem pretty awesome so far. The turn by turn is nice on Apple Maps, I don't stare at my phone so much while I'm driving.
