Anybody got any comparisons of ski/snowboard photos with and without flash for comparison?

I'm probably going to get a speedlite(just a cheap 30$ one) and I'd be looking at them for a while, I saw a thread before(on another forum(can't remember which)) where somebody took a photo with a flash and without a flash in skiing, used as fill flash and also when it was slightly darker, and I couldn't find them again, so I was wondering if anybody had any photos they took with flash and without, would really appreciate it.

A 30 dollar flash won't do a ton to help your ski photos, honestly. If you want to get into lighting skiing, you're going to need some more power and generally going to need more than one light.

It'd just be basic fill flash mainly, from a couple metres at absolute most, probably just a couple feet, My brothers one seems powerful enough in bright sunlight and it'd be the same one, or am I wrong?

There's a chance you can make it work, and I agree that it would be a good, cheap way to get started, especially if you don't want to invest too much before you're sure you'll like doing flash stuff.

Can you provide any more detail on the photo you remember seeing, so maybe someone else who has seen it can pull it up for you?

Yeah, and I've heard from a lot of people it's better to start with one and learn it and build up.

It was a picture of a rail(possibly rainbow) with a snowboarder/skier on it, slightly overcast day, trees in the background, might have been mammoth, with one photo without a flash, looking pretty bland, and the flashed one came out a lot better, it was probably shot from about 5 metres away, I didn't expect to find the specific photo but just any comparisons would be cool.

(blown out sky because i had to expose the biker in order to actually see him... if i had flashes the sky wouldn't have been blown out)
