PSA: They are not cool anymore... They used to be cool, until about 3/4 of urban in WE and the 86 were tranny or wallride shots. Not to mention the Education of Style. Seriously, Leigh Powis and Cam reilly should start hitting goddamn down rails again! Like the good old days!!!

tranny finding is pretty much the sickest thing ever but he's right, it has been overdone this year. for example in the 86 there were hardly a handful of big/long tech rails

OP's got a huggge point, sure its an opinion and thats why its up for discussion! haters hating on hating the amount of wall ride trannys can GTFO.

The 86 was a great movie cinematography wise, but who did the crew think they were? the Technine crew from 3 years ago? Really over did it with front 270's and rideaway, along with lack of technical tricks/rails. Tranny scoping is dope, but it needs variety, and it needs some tricks mixed in.

Shiesty trend that was picked up originally from snowboarders, and followed way too hard after B-dog and Harlaut did so well with it.

HOPE THIS SHIT DOESNT STICK AROUND, AND OH YEAH, FUCK YOU EVAN HEATH.

Now on to what is more important. I think the OP has a valid point. And as others have stated, it is OK if skiing goes somewhere other than snowboarding. We all ski to NOT snowboard in the first place.

The fora are about discussions, so lets have one without some PRO coming and making a joke out of the whole thread like the OP was some person who didn't have a valid point.

If we want skiing to be progressive, then let's fucking be progressive about it.

I had an old account before this one. My dayz on NS go back to 2004 and I am 24 years old. I guarantee you that you would not know my real name or past account name anyways. It is v. frustrating to see your negativity every time I pop back in and check things out.

The OP, however, has a valid point. Really I hope mods do not delete this exchange, b/c EHEATH always needs more public humiliation.

I understand where your coming from. They definitely were the major theme of urban skiing this year (just like it was close-outs last year, rail transfers the year before that, and elbow rails 2 years ago). Its just how the sport progresses tho. We realize what might be possible, push ourselves until its been mastered and then move on to the next level.

and btw, just watched 13 last night and jermany Jones proved that skiers still have a long way to go before we have mastered the art of tranny.

nah, its still new and fresh. so much more to be done in these areas before its tapped out. I would rather see someone slide a rail and land on some awkward, gnarly piece of urban infrastructure than flat snow or a shoveled snow landing.

not to be gay but it is true,

From watching every single movie at IF3, I was oversick of watching trannys. I know how hard they can be and how creative some skiers can get on them, but too much can be too much.

i agree. i love trannies they're soo dope but when a movie has so many of them it gets a little old and each time i lose some appreciation for the difficulty.

I just want to say that Leigh Powis' segment was so fucking sick. It was about 85% reverts, reverse trannys, wallrides, and trannyfinds, but that's what made it great. OP, don't you want any variation in skiing?

1. Yes Leighs Segment was great.
2. Variation in skiing is exactly what I want - variation doesnt mean hitting different tranny finders, it means hitting a wide range of features.

Last year I thought Leigh had a more solid segment because he had a wider range of different tricks including up rails, down rails, back country jumps... dont YOU want any varitation in skiing? Last year Clayton Villa had a really great segment in the poor boyz film , which included a steezy 270 on , prezel 450 off a down rail, he didnt include that kind of tech rail trick at all in his segments this year, which was a dissapointment.
