Sth 12 for me? help

Alright you guys are the best at giving advice and i need help i have a horrible history of breaking baseplates due to me being aggresive and 175 lbs. and was wondering if i should rock the sth 12's on my  ON3P FR's. because they are more in my price range unless some one would like to hook me up with fks's but otherwise i want to know if i should go with them. i watched some reviews but they always want to sell it rather than be straight with you so please give it straight to me.

If they worked for Seth, they'll work for u hahaha. You won't pull the binding out of the ski if that's what your worried about, and if your popping out easily turn up your din. I say go for em!

If you're breaking base plates, you're probably going to break those too.

And STH14s.   The only difference between the 12 and the 14 is a number.

Your best bet for getting a cheap, DURABLE binding would be to go to a ski swap and pick up a used pair of Head/Tyrolia/Fischer 15-DIN race bindings, and replacing the brakes with a pair the proper size.  Their 15-DIN version goes way down to 5.

You should be able to get bindings and brakes for under $100 and they'll last you much longer than STH12s or 14s.

Don't quote me on this, but my friend told me that the STH heel plates used to always crack because they didn't flex with the ski. But they changed it with the 11/12 model (the white/orange one) so that it is a little bit more flexable and will be harder to break. Everyone ive talked to that has them hasn't had any problem, id say go for it.

^thats the Z series of bindings your thinking of. The STH heel was introduced to help prevent the cracking which was and still is an issue Z series bindings.

The STH are pretty much the best bindings you will find at the moment. People will argue that FKS are better, and as a pure binding they may be, but when you add in how hard FKS are to fix, it makes the STH a clear winner in my opion.

I think your right not to go down the second hand route. Yes you could find a deal, but you will have no warrenty should somthing go wrong, and you also have no way of truley knowing how hard the bindings have been used. They may comestically look ok, but the springs could be done.

Im going to agree with you on this. I rocked a pair of 2010 sth 12's and they broke on me after my second season and im the same exact weight as you. Im not an expert and i dont know if they changed the binding much in the last 2 years, but that is my personal experience with the sth 12's

It depends how you broke them and what version you have. Did you have the driver or the oversize. Also what broke?
