Tricks for me?

Hey NS,
I am a beginning park skier, and I want to get better. I was a racer all my life, so I have my turn completely down, but I'm not sure what I should work on next to get better in the park. At the end of this season I started trying stuff in the park for the first time, and right now I can 1, 3, kinda do rails but not well at all, 270 on/off boxes, and whatever its called when you do a 360 while sliding a box. What should I work on this season in the park? I will just be hiking the jumps/features.

Giving you motivation...


Anyways just get grabs in with the tricks you can do, work on a trampoline and practice flips and then move them to snow, work on bigger spins and style.

first thing to remember when you spin off jumps is BRING YOUR KNEES UP. make that a habit now so when you start going for grabs it will be so much easier.

something else i like to do is compare my abilities to a friends. like set a goal of being as good or better than him by the end of the season(to an extent).

Yep and to add to TACO DOGS excellent advice spin with your head (looking over your shoulder) and always have your head up when spinning not looking at your feet.

build a rail and set it up in your yard and hike it a lot it helps so much

Get all your tricks you can do super smooth. It doesn't have to be a dub 12 to be sick. That's why guys like Eric pollard are so cool.

Try and lock in some kind of a grab when you spin, makes you spin so much better and smoother. that should be number one on your list if you cant already do it.

I just finished my second year of park, Id recommend once you get a spin try it with a variation of grabs. Choose a couple you like, and get those down and go for others as far as jibs, try harder ones such as hop on rails and once you get those try front 2s then back 2s out. Try switch ups on pvc then bring it to steel rails. That's all the first hand tips i can give you. Good luck and enjoy your season!

sorry if im thread jacking, but I'm 18 and i'm going into my 3rd season of park. I can 3 with a variation of grabs, frontflip, front surface swap, front swap, front 2, blind 2, and butter 3 off of rollers. what are some good goals for the season?
