Inb4 tinfoil hat meme... I've been thinking on this a lot and doing a bit of research about it but can't really come to a solid conclusion. Theres a decent ammount of occurances and such that can prove it as a conspiracy, but also a good amount to proove against it. I'm hoping this can turn into into some degree of a debate and not a massive shitstorm. Sorry about typos'd I'm on mobile. Discuss.
God I fucking hate conspiracy theorists. So man didn't land on the moon? The sun actually orbits around the earth? Humans didn't evolve, they were created? Get fucking real.
Conspircy is a group of people getting together secretly to commit a crime. 9/11 WAS conspiracy, whose guilty? different arguement. This thread fails so hard.
Really kind of doubt that 9/11 was a conspiracy, but I definitely think it's really interesting to read about/watch these kind of things. Also it's crazy that people spend all this time creating conspiracy theories. I'm writing a paper on it right now actually.
I just watched a movie about that in my Theory of Knowledge class. They are only taking into consideration the things that make it seem like a conspiracy. I haven't done enough research to compare though.
Pretty sure there aren't any conspiracy theorist saying the sun orbits the earth, that ones pretty well know. And no conspiracy theorist are saying things about evolution. I think you're confusing science and conspiracy...
Though the moon landing people do say was a hoax, not really a conspiracy.
that's the major flaw in conspiracies/hoax theories.
They only take the things that might vaguely support their theory into account rather than the whole picture, and of course that means they always get the outcome they're looking for.
Not to mention that they begin by searching for a predetermined outcome. If you already know what you want to see, you're going to see it.
Simply using google will show you that there are, in fact, people saying the sun is much smaller than what scientists say it is and that it actually orbits around earth. Its utterly ridiculous but people believe it.
And the same thing about evolution but I agree, I feel like Im using the wrong word. But these people believe the government is purposely feeding us this disinformation...
A fair point, but that's not to say there aren't any (semi) valid conspiracy theorists out there. The government (especially in the US) does some pretty fucked up stuff (MK ULTRA, etc).
One might make an indirect example out of cigarettes (even though they weren't sold by the government; rather large corporations). Some people were convinced that cigarettes were actually beneficial to your health, and those who thought they were bad for you were passed off as mere conspiracy theorists.
I don't think there is a conspiracy, the whole concept is kinda grasping a straws at best.
However i don't think they told us everything that went down that day. There is some missing information because some of the things (i.e. pentagon shit) don't add up. But am i saying it was some inside job or something like that probably not.
I don't think many people actually believe that about the theory of evolution, sure some do, but most people who disagree think that modern science is mistaken, not that its all a big conspiracy.
sinking of the Lusitania-we know now that what they told us back then was a crock Pear harbor-a lot of evidance now that we knew it was going to happen
Soviet Union/US pissing on eachother-korea Gulf of Tonkin-we know was 'fake' now
9/11-growing up in NY I pray that it wasn't our own govt, but there is honestly just to much evidence to think other wise-who knows what we'll know in 25 years
This thread is going better than expected. Keep discussing. I was reading some article before about how jet fuel wouldn't create a big enough to take down a whole tower. He also mentioned some eye witness accounts of people hearing multiple explosions. Interesting shit.
Heard extra explosions?? C'mon people believe in ghosts and demons because they convince themselves they saw one. Plus these people were in a state of panic and shock when they would have heard anything. And when it comes to the jet fuel conspiracy, who are the people making the claims? And where's the evidence for it? Anyone can make up anything. 9/10 times the simplest explanation is the correct explanation
You also raise a good point. Until we the people receive full and utter disclosure on the matter I guess we will never be certain. And to be honest, even if we did, the conspiracy theorists wouldn't go away.
My stance on the matter, after looking pretty deep into each side, is that the U.S. was aware of an impending terrorist attack and saw it as an opportunity to go to the middle east. I DO NOT believe they had anything to do with the actual attacks but I think they had a sense that something was going to go down and chose to not act on it.
That's why I'm surprised so many people believe the official story 100%. So much much bullshit. Would really be the biggest string of coincidences all thrown together on one day.
But the truth is, people will believe lot's of things without adequate evidence.
For instance, most people believe the official story simply because they were told that was all the answers. People posts things like " I feel bad for all the idiots who don't believe the official story" because that's how they've been told to feel.
There were never open discussions on the subject. The whole idea, go with the conclusion they give us now and your a horrible person, pretty much a terrorist if you even think to discuss it or investigate it. What a very intelligent approach to the situation.
Where ever you view point lies you can't really argue that discussion without boundaries were really ever allowed. We were told from the start what happened and then anyone who question anything was pretty much working for the enemy and might as well have killed all those people themselves.
That's a very ignorant way to live your life. I don't really care if you came to the conclusion that 100% of everything in that report was completely true, blindly trusting everything you're told in this day in age is pretty insane.
Yeah its a fabricated debate because there really isn't a debate at all. The evidence shows that there is no conspiracy. What happened, happened. I think a lot of people turn to the conspiracy because they can't believe that a couple of arabs armed with box cutters could have brought america to its knees.
Yes some people do that. Kind of funny you mention that on this topic though. Honestly you could have thrown something ridiculous in with everything else and people would have eaten it up. People KNEW what happened right away. Anything contrary to what they KNEW happened was immediately dismissed as conspiracy theories.
