Armada jj, K2 hellbent or Atomic Bent chetler

I am going to japan in january and i dont have pow skis, Out of the Armada jj, K2 hellbent or Atomic Bent chetler wich will be the best for DEEP pow stomping landings and a bit of groomers (probably a few park jumps)

The Chetler is similar to the new Magic J in dimensions but it notably stiffer (in the shop at least) and can definitely handle jumps in the park. .

yeah all 3 are very different skis. hellbents are super soft with tonnes of rocker. i hate mine but they woild probably be amazing in japanese pow howver if you want to huck cliffs or anythinf.tjey wouldnt be.my choice. i rode bentchetlers last week and found them too stiff, and i was riding 60cm of heavy new snow, they just arent a playful ski. havent ridden jjs but i imagine they lie somewhere in the middle of the two

I ride the AK jjs and they are super nice all over the mountain. They slay in the deep pow off cliffs and booters and they are super stable on groomers. Id say AK jjs then Hellbent then Bent chetlers.

Lol at Collin Collins saying hellbents+dukes is an efficient touring setup. However, of the three I would probably reccommend the bent chetler; the hellbent is too big with too much rocker splay and too soft of a flex to be super versatile outside bottomless powder, and the turning radius of the jj makes it pretty unstable at high speeds. The bent chetler will be super floaty and surfy for Japanese powder, more stable at speed than the jj, and more versatile than the hellbent.

ok for everyone telling you those are extremely different skis they're wrong, i have chetlers and jj's and they are pretty much the same, the chetlers are a tad bit stiffer in the tips and jj's are much stiffer everywhere else, i found the jj's to be much better in the trees and on hardpack but if you have soft snow the chetlers can hold a much better edge and they float like pros. you cant go wrong with either teh chetlers or jj's both are amazing skis

i have 185 volkl chopsticks and i just bought some 189 hellbents. i'm 6'3" and have had the chopsticks for 3 seasons and i love them. the symmetrical cut to them takes some getting used to, because since they have a wide tail you need to lean back in pow more than i thought i would

they really fun and have a low swing weight, but theyre stiff. i bought the hellbents so i'd have a softer alternative on fluffy days

one thing to remember is that if you have the choice of going shorter or longer with pow skis, go longer. the reverse camber or early rise will make them feel shorter

Hellbents are made in China so yes they would be best suited for Japan.
